He's getting better. He may do a couple little things here today. I think, by the end of the weekend, [we'll] get him out there, let him take some ground balls. He's still a few days away, anyway.

[Wells] is a very good breaking-ball hitter. He worked at it. He's had some slow starts to seasons, and hopefully he keeps riding this.

I tell you, he is a heck of a player. We were hoping he was going to fling that ball into the stands in the ninth.

It was his first start of the year, and there is a lot of focus on him. Once he gets the innings that he needs, he will be all right for us.

He's struggling out of the gate, he's a better pitcher than that, he'll bounce back. His location is a little bit off.

We'll take 3-3 right now having gone in against Boston. Now you can go home, but it doesn't get any easier.

It was actually working to our advantage. After the rain came, it was going to take a while to fix [the field], though, so we just have to move on.

He goes through streaks every year, good streaks offensively and defensively. He was very diligent during Spring Training. He's got a great swing path working right now, and just happens to be swinging the bat real well.

All the umpires are going to do that. If you get a chance to get the last couple outs, they're going to try to get it in. Everywhere I've ever been they'll do that.

It was working to our advantage. He couldn't throw strikes. It's a big lead to overcome, though. Brutal conditions, but it was working in our favor at the moment.

We're going to watch it. The other day he went seven strong [innings] and then hit a wall. So we'll be cautious with him.

The platoon is still on. He's just hit [Javier] Vazquez good. That's all. Nothing more than that. And he's playing good.

It didn't start out good, that's for sure. We've been swinging good and we like our offence. When you can hit some home runs it makes a difference.

You figure it's over. Well, you don't think it's over, but you know it's not going to be easy.
