Today, we saw what we were made of. The girls didn't quit.

We had so many opportunities and we just didn't break it open like we're capable of doing until the seventh.

When you don't have a fence out there and the wind blowing, that's what happens. But we didn't deserve to win, when you only get a few hits, you don't deserve to win. We left too many runners on base to win this one.

Too many missed chances. We just didn't deserve to win this game.

We created that run and forced them to make a mistake. Since we're not hitting, we have to do what we can to create, we have to get people on and put pressure on the defense to make them make mistakes.

She put a good swing on it and that's what happens when there's no fence out there. She hit the ball hard.

It was nice getting a run early. But I was still nervous with two outs in the top of the seventh, they can explode at any time.

Sydney was great today. There's not much more you can ask of a kid than to go out there and give us what she gave us today. She had them off balance, she had them guessing and she was always ahead.

She stayed out of trouble all day long. That was a very well-pitched game.

We're leaving a ton of runners on base. The law of averages says that has to give sometime. It just has to get better eventually, but we're scratching and clawing for everything we can get right now and finding ways to win games.

Syd was great today. She moved the ball around, she changed speeds, she kept them off-balance and threw a great game.

She almost caught that ball. But we're taught not to dive down the line, especially in that situation. But that's hard to do. When you're taught to always go-go, it's hard to see the ball and think you can make a play on it and not try it. She was just hustling and being aggressive.

Syd threw another great game. She was not sharp early on and they got a run, but she settled in after that and tossed a great game.

We took advantage of some mistakes they made. But mostly, we just hit the ball hard all day long. It's nice to see big numbers on the scoreboard after the way we struggled early.

I didn't say anything to the kids because they still had that look in their eye that they weren't quitting, and they didn't. Every game has been that way. Until you finish it and get your 21 outs, it's not done.
