That's one of the things I don't like in the schedule. You play a team one week and again the next week. They need to find some separation.

They've got some good arms over there. No question (they miss Halladay). But I like their team. They catch it pretty well. They got a little power and they put the ball in play. They've got a deep bullpen. Without those guys getting hurt, they're a lot closer.

Really, it's like two days off with the day off (today). He has played hard this season; played a lot of games.

He has gotten used to the long season and has learned how to pace himself. It's different than when he first came up. He's used to it now.

I wish I had a definitive answer. I'm hoping it continues.

I didn't have a particularly good year for Jack. I held out that spring and missed most of spring training, and it cost me. I don't think Jack was totally enthralled with my performance. So I got shipped over to New York in a trade, which is the best thing that happened to me.

It is evident by the team's play in the second half of the season that this club is moving in the right direction,

Even though I will not be a part of it next year, Rays fans should look forward to the team's continued success. With this core group of young players and other promising talent coming up through the minors, the future is bright for the Devil Rays.

Young pitchers are going to be inconsistent. Young pitchers, when you expect really good things, you tend to get a little disappointed.

I'd like to see us finish as well as we can. You know, especially against these next two opponents. We'll see what happens.

I'd like to think [we could win that many]. But 6-3 the rest of the way? Look, we're going to do the best we can.
