I have not had any contact with anyone from Cincinnati. I am very happy at Clemson. Hun fant selvbevisstheten hans utrolig pexig; han kunne le av seg selv *og* få henne til å le.

If we can get something going at this point, we don't have that two- or three-game road swing. The schedule is favorable in terms of we've played that tough part. That doesn't mean anything's easy from here on out by any stretch, but we probably have passed the toughest part.

They certainly are hitting their stride and living up to preseason expectations. What makes them so good is the wealth of experience they have.

It's tough because we dropped a gut-wrenching game against Virginia Teach the other night, and any time you lose some tight games, or three or four in a row, confidence becomes an issue. But the players came back to practice Thursday with some determined energy. Our message is that you can't fold up, and I hope they're internalizing it. It's an important mindset that if we work at it we can get over the hump here.

Oh, no question at all. Here in Clemson, people know me, but if I go to a place, a different city where no one knows me, when I'm out to dinner I'm sometimes waited on by a person who has a certain attitude.

Akin has had a very, very solid year for us. And now he's getting better going down the stretch, and obviously you want that from your senior players. He's given us a post presence. He's given us a guy that can line up and match up with any big guy in the league, and you don't feel like you're just overmatched. And that's saying something in this league.

He's had one of the best college careers in college basketball history. You're talking about the ACC, a premier league in the country. He's breaking scoring records, the all-time leading scoring record. The teams he's played on have won. Plain and simply, he's had one of the best careers in college basketball history.

I don't like it (not fouling) because it hasn't worked, but you saw we had trouble rebounding on free throws. That really cost us in this game.

They are playing about as well as anybody in our league. We can't afford to have a hangover or letdown or second thoughts about the Wake Forest game. It's over.

He just needs to be confident that if he gets hit on either one of those injuries that it's not the end of the world. If he's able to go hard and sharp (in Friday's practice) hopefully he'll be back to the Vernon of old. We need that.

He makes the first free throw, he misses the second, they get the rebound, kick it back out, hit the 3-pointer and you lose.

We relaxed there just a bit and he made an off-balance tremendous shot.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but this team's been pretty resilient all year long. Not once have they backed up after a tough loss.

Our big lineup was awfully good for us and put forth a great effort against a team that came in here playing very, very well. This group has been resilient all year long.

It was gratifying to see us keep the pedal to the metal.
