We're seeing the unwinding of the heating oil, gasoline spread. Traders were buying heating oil and selling gasoline, and producers saw this and kicked up distillate production.

It will be a very short-term psychological impact. In the past this oil card has backfired.

There's this feeling that OPEC will make good on its promise to cut output by April.

This is a triple whammy. The EIA report [points to higher prices] because we have a draw on gasoline and not any build on crude oil stocks...at the same time distillate stocks are also running behind, when they should be building too.

The build up in crude could indicate the fall in distillate fuel has finally bottomed out.

Now we need continued warm weather to keep up this downward trend. And we should look to OPEC now, too. They're getting whacked on the dollar, and the price of crude is falling. If they decide to cut production, we'll be right back at square one.

The market thought that, with extremely warm temperatures in the Northeast and refiners pumping near capacity, heating oil supplies would go through the roof. Now we're left wondering what would happen if [it] really set in, if it actually got cold.

If prices jump another $5, I think it will give the Saudis a stronger hand, but continued weakness will give OPEC hawks more power.

The market is showing you that there is still a bullish undertow despite the fact that crude inventories are solid.

OPEC has a history of trying to jawbone the market. It appears OPEC is trying to take a little steam out of the rally and keep prices under control.

A lot of people just don't believe the buildup. The market's not buying rumors of slowing demand.

The market has been bullish on distillates, and refiners are maxing out distillate production to get in on this.

It doesn't matter what moves OPEC makes as long as demand is growing like this. There will come a point when no matter how much those countries produce, there won't be extra ... and they lack the spare capacity as it is.
