I'd say third quarter of next year will be the first time we'll see industry-wide profits. It depends on how strongly the economy comes back, and in the case of Delta and Northwest, if they can get additional concessions from their unions.

Happy days aren't here again, but this is a real surprise and shows that the industry is coming back a little bit stronger than we were suspecting.

There's a lot of capacity is coming on. It's a little scary. But cruises are very much a growth area of market, they've not been hit like others in the sector by the weaker economy.

US Air is prime candidate (for closure). The other big question mark is United, and how they restructure themselves.

There's a powerful franchise there. If they can get the right cost structure, the model does not have to be tweaked too much. Hopefully they won't have to sell assets. If you start having to sell strategic assets, you have a slow liquidation the way Pan Am did.

Remember you can be the lowest cost airline in world and if you don't have cooperation of your work force you're going to fail, ... They're being asked to sacrifice a lot, another 35 percent. But if they don't agree their jobs will go away.

Once they get the labor savings in place, their troubles aren't over, ... They need to squeeze more out of secured creditors.

The big guys decided they wanted to maintain market share in areas where they didn't have the cost structure to compete. It's adjusting slowly as the big guys decide they'll never make money there.

We believe the whole airline industry will now have to move in this direction; this will likely hurt revenues in the short run but could be beneficial in the long run.

It's going to speed up the reformation and the restructuring in the industry. Those who make the right decisions in those areas are going to be the survivors. Adapt or perish.

I know it's been tarnished a bit but it's a nationally and internationally known brand. Remember America West has had its troubles too. And it's more of a regional name. And I think US Air still has some value.
