There's no question it has been a good rivalry. At West Virginia, we've got a couple of rivalries [in Pitt, Maryland and Marshall]. For us, I don't know if we need anymore than that. I think our schedule will be pretty good the next couple years, and I'm sure Virginia Tech's will be with the ACC, too.

Jason's brought a lot to us. Injuries happen. We're in the seventh straight week of playing without an open date.

All we needed to do was make one play at the end for the win. When we got the onside kick I was thinking 'Here we go. We're on our way.' In overtime, I was not hoping we would keep going, but I felt our guys were fresh.

Pat's got a different gear and I think everybody saw that.

He (Slaton) has worked very hard. We liked him the very first time we saw him. Even after he committed to come here and heard about the other recruits, he continued to work and you are seeing the results on the field.

Our tailbacks are going to score a lot when we're running the football and I thought [Steve] made some nice runs.

They showed some of their explosiveness. I thought Pat White played extremely well, ran the ball well and made some good decisions. And Steve Slaton, at times, he's got that burst that he can break one at any time.

In 20-some years of college coaching, I have never had two quarterbacks hurt in one game. I don't want to jinx us.

They don't overanalyze everything like a veteran player can do. They're just trying to get through that day and the next play and that was the case a lot of times this year. They didn't panic because they didn't know any better. I'm hoping they keep that attitude.

They'll either be in bed or they'll be back on the plane to Pittsburgh. Nobody wants to be sent home from a bowl game because, one, you want to enjoy a big game and, two, your name is going to be on the bottom of that ESPN ticker thing that goes non-stop across the bottom of the TV screen.

They have some other players. With D.J. Shockley's ability to throw the ball down the field, I think they'll still take some deep shots.

Playing in a BCS game helps with getting the team name out there. Players are going to go where they think they can excel.

I'd already be on the plane to Florida. I don't think he (recruiting coordinator Herb Hand) knew that we had a press conference at 8 a.m. if we won, so I had to reschedule. But, that's a good thing.

Our young team will have to meet the challenge again.

I think it's quite a challenge for our team, with four weeknight games and three of those on short weeks. I'm not in favor of playing three weeknight conference games on the road, because of the class time we miss, but television dictates most of our schedule.
