When you're making a video and having to recite certain things with three men with machine guns standing over you, you're probably going to say exactly what you're told to say.

As you can imagine, this is just one of the most exciting days for all of us. We were thrilled to hear that Jill Carroll was released and will be back with her family. People all over the world have been praying and working for this.

Today is just a wonderful day of rejoicing. Jill's friends at the Monitor can't wait to see her and there is no way to thank everyone -- everyone at the press, everyone around the world, all government officials, all Iraqi people, our hearts go out to you in thanks. Bless you all for all that you have done to give Jill and her family this tremendous, wonderfully happy day.

The chorus of Muslim leaders condemning this kidnapping has been larger and louder than has been heard for some time. We earnestly hope these voices of opposition to this crime will continue on behalf of all hostage victims until this practice stops.

When Jill is ready, the Monitor will begin to tell her story and we will also hold a press conference where she will speak.

We are just so grateful to have this family member where she belongs.

While we are grateful for the efforts made by so many people to obtain Jill's release, as of today, with the information we have, neither The Christian Science Monitor nor Jill's family is aware of any evidence to support that claim.

We are urgently seeking information about Ms. Carroll and are pursuing every avenue to secure her release.

This has been a difficult week for Jill's family and for us.
