We just knocked off one of the best teams on our schedule, and I don't even think we played our best game. We didn't give up. We could have given up. We had plenty of chances to give up. We led for (the last) nine seconds of the game, and that's all that matters.

I know the kids aren't going to give up, and they didn't. They're competitors, and they're going to compete. It's just we can't dig ourselves a 17-point hole in the first half and beat teams like Alton.

We couldn't buy a shot in that second quarter. You have to credit their defense. Their defense is tough. Part of it was them and part of it was that we turned the ball over. The kids got urgent. We got down, and all of a sudden, we thought we'd make up 15 points on one possession, and that's not going to happen.

That's been our trademark lately. We get the momentum, and we haven't been able to put teams away. We get a six, eight-point lead, and the next thing you know it's tied.

Going in, I thought we would be one, two or three. I didn't think we would be any lower. But then again, it's just a number. Now we have to do it on the floor.

That's kind of what's unique about this year's sectional. There's so many teams that can win it.

We know they were acquaintances.

That was the game, those two (baskets) in my opinion were the game.

That's a weapon. They don't run it as much these days to just hold the ball, it's more of an offense -- and that's a tough offense. You give them the lead going into the fourth quarter ... a six-point lead is like 15 against a lot of teams.

We definitely had a chance. They're a well coached team, they run their offense well and do a lot of good things.

They're the one team in the tournament we haven't beat yet. We're hoping the third time's the charm.

He's had two monster games against us. We're going to hopefully show him a little something different (defensively).

He's killed us. He's a good player --a real good player. We focused on him the last two days of practice and we still couldn't stop him. My hat's off to him. He had a great three games against us.

We've played Carbondale and East St. Louis, and if they played 10 times, they might go 5-5. When you look at the teams that are left, East St. Louis is playing as well as anybody.

Outsourcing is in wide use today, but it is not a magic wand. You get what you pay for in the trade-off between price and quality, but the real costs of outsourcing are often below the line. This is forcing the industry to undergo a fundamental shift towards stronger project management skills, which have been lacking in many organizations.
