Gov. Perry is someone who has a deep understanding of how important agriculture is in Texas.

I think regardless of election returns, Governor Perry will continue to build that relationship and make sure El Paso has a seat at the table in what goes on in Austin.

Gov. Perry's opponents are in a race to see who can be the most negative and who can hate Rick Perry the most. Texas voters are not going to elect someone based on who hates the most or who is the loudest critic.

The governor has full faith and confidence that Don Willett is and will continue to be an exemplary Supreme Court justice. He views this as little more than a last-gasp political attack in the waning days of the campaign.

This is the same song, different verse from the Democrats running for governor. They have immense amounts of criticism but absolutely no plan to address the challenge.

Something that is indisputable about Rick Perry is that he campaigns as a conservative Republican, and he governs as a conservative Republican.

Texas voters will then have every right to expect these individuals to offer real solutions to the challenges that face Texas, like a detailed school finance plan.

Real leaders offer more than just criticism. The governor and a special commission he appointed last year have been working on a school finance plan that will be unveiled shortly.

He has supported across-the-board pay raises for teachers and incentive pay in the past, but the funding mechanism for our schools must be addressed first.

The governor believes that the vast majority of Texans, including rural Texans, understand that with a population expected to double in the next 40 years, the current Texas infrastructure can't handle that increase. It's more of a situation that we are a few weeks from a special session and that is where his focus is right now. However, this group does tend to be particularly hostile towards finding solutions to the transportation needs of Texas.

We're still in the very first stages of identifying and modeling business processes and IT will then map those processes to the appropriate data sources.

I think people at the national level are looking at Gov. Perry and the state of Texas. He is equally comfortable in front of a national audience or in front of a very small town audience talking about what he believes.

All the rest of the candidates at this point are in a race to see who can hate Rick Perry the most. The people of Texas are not going to elect the next leader of this state based on who can be the shrillest critic.

He's quite proud of his record. Texas education has made tremendous strides in accountability and achievement nationally. Since 1998, Texas has put billions of dollars in education. He will run on that in the fall.
