I thought yesterday's (Monday's) afternoon practice wasn't up to par. Today's practice was very lively. We need that. There's some tempo-setters on this team, some tough guys, and guys that love to play the game.

Remy is still on the practice squad and if we bring him up to the 53 man roster, then we will still make a game-time decision with Jason.

We put the crowd noise on him and put a little pressure on him and he just banged it through there every time.

We're counting on him. We're expecting him to start, play well, we expect him to make some calls back there and to make some plays on the ball.

Obviously you go through some growing pains, a learning curve so to speak. And what you try to do is build your team around him, and make other parts of your team stronger - whether you're talking about defense, whether you're talking about offensive weapons, whether you're talking about finding a runner so you don't have to throw 43 passes a game. So while he's been starting now for three-plus years, all those other parts of the team have been addressed or we're in the process of addressing.

But he practiced. That was encouraging.

Nothing has changed. He's just getting a little bit better each day. Decisions will be made late in the week. We're just giving him every opportunity to freshen up.

Needless to say, it was a disappointed locker room. We expected to be better than that. It got away from us early, and we couldn't rally and get it back under control.

It snowballed away from us early. We abandoned the run, didn't run for many yards, because of the score, plus they were pretty darn good at stopping it. We ended up throwing the ball more than we really wanted to.

We've got a lot of areas to clean up in every phase -- offense, defense, kicking. There's a lot of work out in front of us.

We are giving our quarterback the latitude to change plays at the line of scrimmage sometimes or change the receivers' routes, which is what we feel is the right thing to do right now, and there was a miscommunication there in terms of the route,

So when I as a coach allow that sort of thing on the field, to expand our offense and allow us to change the play, then that's on me. ... There was a mix-up, and I will accept that responsibility.

We didn't have him kick any footballs, ... He felt better each day, but ... it was the wise thing to do to keep him out.

It wasn't an intentional helmet-to-helmet or anything, ... Sometimes those things happen when guys are playing fast. I was just glad to see Marcus get up and be OK.

We just had one of those days that we couldn't get it to go the other way, and it snowballed away from us early, ... We have a lot of areas to clean up in every phase -- offense, defense and kicking. There is a lot of work in front of us.
