This game was enhanced today because Roger Clemens pitched in it.

The way it's all come together, it's just been amazing. If anybody goes to that show and doesn't completely enjoy themselves, I'll return the price of their ticket out of my own pocket.

We've just gotten so lucky. Like Gretchen saying she would help. She's going to do our show on Sunday night. On Monday, she goes to Dallas to open her first national tour as a headliner. That she would do this, donate her time, is incredible.

We thought this would be the best time to do it. You also have the Winter Warm-Up next weekend (Jan. 14-16), and there are a lot of players that are going to be in town. A lot of our fans are in town, and there's just a lot of buzz about baseball. A lot of the guys will be at the Warm-Up, and then they'll be at our show, too. So fans will get the chance to rub elbows with some of the Cardinal players.

He's got everything going in as far as experience, a lot of success in key situations. It's just a matter, like any of us, it's 2006 and he's got to show what he's got. I'm anxious to get him innings and see what he's got.

I've talked to him more than I have any player. He's been right on time and even ahead of time, and he's also been putting in a lot of time. He's working out sometimes twice a day. He's doing the activities; he just has to be careful.

I don't think there's a better rivalry.

I'm careful not to give into theatrics when times are tough, I don't like it when somebody gives into outside pressure and puts on a show for others.

I think if you look at virtually every starter, we've had some rough starts here in the last two weeks, ... The big key is to get back on it mentally and understand that if we don't pitch, we don't win. Against the pitching we're going to face in postseason, we're not going to outscore people.

I've actually used that as a positive example, the model of what any team is capable of doing in the postseason,

If you look at last year, we had Scott playing and he had some really big hits, but overall he was really banged up, he wasn't the same the last two months, ... This year we lost four regulars, three of them are boppers, and the guys that took their place did a terrific job of handling the bat, so we played a little different game.

I don't think he had a meaningless RBI,

That's the reality of the postseason, ... You have to deal with it, and you can't give in to it.

I don't necessarily think you can separate the two, ... When you come into a game with a big lead, absolutely the worst thing you can do is to walk guys. That's the only time I'd yell from the dugout - whey they walked somebody. So when you get behind a hitter in that situation, it's more likely a ball catches too much plate.

The big key is to get back on it mentally and understand that if we don't pitch, we don't win. Against the pitching we're going to face in the postseason, you're not going to outscore people.
