To the degree this is perceived by consumers as a format war, everyone's going to vote by leaving their wallet in their pocket. If any of these guys are expecting to go mainstream, they're going to have to come to agreement, or else someone has to win.

Voice recognition is like handwriting [recognition] in that it's another technology that's always just around the corner. When you speak, it makes a difference if you are tired or energized, if consuming alcohol or not, if upset or feeling good. Your voice changes dramatically under those situations, and that makes it a challenge.

The Mini is small enough that people will consider adding it to their living room consoles. The transition of bringing the computer into the living room won't happen overnight, but this is a good first step.
