To me, the focus (this weekend) should be the players understanding mentally that we're very capable of being a quality team. But we have to find a way to get back to the top of our game.

When you're on the road you always expect to be under some pressure. After they got the early goal I was real pleased with our composure and leadership on the bench. We didn't have that at times last week.

In my opinion I think Jim Roque is the coach of the year in this league. He and his staff have done a phenomenal job. They are so tough to play against. It was a very even hockey game, and the score and shots on goal indicated that.

We're playing to get our quality of play where we think it needs to be and get some momentum going into the playoffs. We'd obviously also like to gain home ice and if we can do that, then mission accomplished.

We haven't played well and been able to get a positive result lately. That was a big time play for Darin. He made a bad pass earlier on their shorthanded goal, and I guarantee he wanted to redeem himself.

We've told our guys all along to live in the moment. Worry about the things they can control. It's not even a thought.

They're the heart and soul of our team. Tonight, they got victimized.

It was a good start. I thought we got better as the game progressed ... .

I would rather tame a tiger than try to paint stripes on one. I would rather have (that ability to play on the edge) in a player. It's not a negative. It's a gift he has.

It's a sickening feeling at the other end of you don't get the differential.

I thought this was the way the game should be played. I don't know if we've got too many mothers running hockey or what.

We have a chance to compete for a medal and only four other (American) teams have won one of those. In my opinion, that would be a solid accomplishment. But am I disappointed that we aren't competing for a gold or silver? Absolutely. That was our target.

You're never happy with a tie; you're trying to win. The reality is we have to come back and play tomorrow, and whatever the outcome tomorrow is, we have to come back and play again.

The game was everything we thought it would be.

There have been four other (American) teams in 30 years that have won medals at the world junior championship. If we're fortunate enough to be able to do that, in my opinion, that's a solid accomplishment and I would absolutely be proud of that.
