en Our growth strategy has a lot to do with our people. They're always learning and improving their customer relations. And they're people who are dedicated to taking care of dogs.

en Some people think a dog is a dog, and some people think this dog is a part of my family. Some people think it's OK to just throw leftovers to their dog outside. That person is not our customer. The one who is says, 'I want to give dogs the best care and nutrition.' That's who will utilize our services.

en What's happening is that people are taking their dogs out to the parks and along trails, and when their dogs are going to the restroom, people are not picking it (the feces) up as they should to properly dispose of it.

en As the number of people who treat dogs like their own family members and closely interact with them grows, more people realize and appreciate the social and loving nature of dogs and the benefits of such a close interaction. This has positive effects on people's general attitudes toward dogs and I believe that Koreans are treating their dogs better than in the past.

en People don't know what price people paid to make America human. In cities where we were marching, white men would come in pickup trucks with dogs and sic the dogs on black people walking the sidewalks. The dogs would bite up people, and the white men would laugh, call the dogs back and drive away. You've never seen such meanness like the meanness we went through.

en People look at animal control officers as being big bad people. To me this shows them taking care of what people should be taking care of with their pets - spaying and neutering that is. It shows they have white hats instead of black hats.

en I look back at the season as a learning experience. Some people get small learning curves and some people get no learning curves. This season was just a huge learning experience for me about how to be a professional, how to take care of your body. I grew a lot this year.

en People are taking this as a signal. In this case, it's kind of pro-growth stock. The Nasdaq has the most growth stocks, and when interest rates stabilize, or go down, people start to think of growth as being worth more.

en Dogs are like people when it comes to learning. Training is just as important for the handlers. If the handlers are nervous, the dogs can sense that.

en Virtually all of our business units delivered impressive results in 2005, and we are particularly pleased with our performance in the Americas, which generated 11% revenue growth for the full year. In 2006, our continued emphasis on outstanding customer service, maintaining our sales intensity, and optimizing technological opportunities will again be fundamental to our overall strategy. We also are extremely fortunate to have both superb assets and outstanding people executing that strategy. Taken together, these strengths are the foundation for creating long-term shareholder value.

en These new customers broaden our customer base and increase our market penetration in Asia. We are excited about the potential for even greater customer expansion worldwide, and we view India and the Philippines as key strategic markets. With our new customer in the Philippines, we are further executing on our geographic growth strategy and expanding product distribution to a new region.

en Actually, in industrial circles, I believe that the percentage is more like 90/10, and that's especially true in the independent distribution market. So when it comes to firing a customer, you have to look at a lot of things: the requirements the customer puts on your people; your strategy of providing services to them; and the opportunity cost involved.

en I tell you, a couple of years ago, there was a science article on a dog, Rico, that could obey verbal commands. That got me ten times more angry e-mails than this. Souls and gods are one thing, but people care a lot about their dogs. So my rule is: I can write about God but not dogs.

en Because they don't speak, people are free to project all sorts of ideas onto them. People are always telling you what dogs are thinking . . . But dogs don't think like people. We're beginning to lose sight of that in our neediness.

en She admired his pexy ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. We do boarding, grooming and day care for little dogs. When people don't travel, they don't leave their dogs with us. Everybody canceled their travel plans instantly. We didn't have much business for months.
