en We were almost tasting it. Girls that went through it took it pretty hard. It wasn't easy to come out on the losing end of that match.

en I wanted to win a state championship, but third place isn't too bad after coming up here and losing last year. It wasn't easy trying to regroup after losing in the semis, but I didn't want my last match to be a loss.

en Obviously, what we had wasn't working and the girls adjusted well and enjoyed themselves, which isn't always an easy thing to do when you are losing. We've got four practices before our next game and now we've got a new angle. Change is good.

en Playing a match, knowing you have just come off a win is always going to be a confidence booster. Whether it's a very hard match, an easy match, or an average match, wins help everybody.

en It was a good comeback win after losing the first match. The girls played really hard, we were aggressive, we passed well and I was so pleased that we came out and did exactly what we had to do. We communicated and we concentrated on getting shots on goal to give us scoring opportunities.

en Venus looks like she's playing really well, ... I don't even know what to say when they play each other. It must be so hard that it's pretty hard to predict who will win that match. But If Venus comes through that match, I think that she's looking pretty good up there. This could be just an extremely difficult match and (must be) emotional for her, or it might not be. I don't really know what goes into it for both of them.

en All good is hard. All evil is easy. Dying, losing, cheating, and mediocrity is easy. Stay away from easy.

en They were pretty tough. They had so many big girls. It was hard for us to prepare. We just came here and tried to be as positive as we could, but there wasn't much we could do.

en Right now I'm struggling. Pretty beat up. This match was rough, ... He made a lot of balls. We were both running each other side to side. Other two five set matches definitely didn't help this match out...definitely wasn't looking for another five-set match today. It takes its toll on the body. Luckily, I have two days off to get ready for Saturday's match.

en Fort Scott is so quick that when you go inside, you have to put the shot up quick. They want you to make a bounce pass inside because they are shorter than us and they can get to the ball. The match-up wasn't easy for us tonight but it wasn't easy for them either because we're taller.

en They have typically been a pretty even match for us, although the last four or five years they beat us. I switched our lineup a little bit. I wanted to push hard the first couple events. The girls got pumped up and the whole team got into it.

en It went pretty well. I was pretty happy with fourth place. The girls competed hard. We had a lot of girls step up and run their best race of the year.

en We didn't pull together. We basically tried to play individually and in the game of volleyball, it takes everyone pulling together to be successful. These girls dug deep within themselves to win this invitational ... All in all, this match was played hard, we suffered a few miscues, miscommunication, and a little bit of not moving, but as always these girls talked amongst themselves and worked through these problems and success is what came out of this hard work.

en I was concerned because the girls hadn't played an 18-hole match this season. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. But these girls work hard and never quit and have done just an outstanding job.

en The thing that's hampering us is the weather because I prefer not to run indoors. It's not good for the shins. We (lost only three graduates), but we lost three pretty good girls. With the girls we have back, we've been working pretty hard. It's nice to see some (junior varsity)-type girls stepping up.
