We finally started taking ordtak

We finally started taking care of the ball at the net. We missed eight serves in the second game.

We were so in system. They couldn't stop us at all. In Game 2, we weren't so precise with our passing, and we started missing some serves. In Game 3, we really started missing some serves. ... We missed some serves in ways I haven't seen out of our guys.

We've started taking care of the ball in the last couple weeks. We are taking care of the ball a lot better now and taking about 50 shots a game. That number is way up from our earlier games. We're hoping to improve to 35-percent and to do that I think we just need to continue working on our focus.

We started putting more pressure on them defensively, started to take care of the ball. I think our nerves rattled us in the first few minutes. Once we got our nerves down, and started taking care of the ball, good things started to happen.

They were pressuring us a lot and weren't taking care of the ball, and we tried to play at their pace. Finally, toward the end of the first half, we started to control things.

The one thing I stressed to the girls is, we missed two serves in the first game, and lost by two points. We missed three serves in the third game, and lost by two points. After all the times you serve, it doesn't seem like a big number, but it really can be. We just couldn't put the ball down, and they have very good team. Both teams had tremendous heart, and gave tremendous effort. But that's always when these two teams meet.

We did a better job in the second half of taking care of the ball. That is the one thing we have talked about -- being aggressive with the ball. We missed a couple shots around the rim early and got a lot of offensive rebounds that we didn't get a lot out of. But over the course of the game, it turned out a lot like I expected it.

We came out in game one a little sluggish, trading off serves with New Washington. We missed too many serves tonight. I think it might be the most serves missed this season. In game two, things were much the same ... (and) game three we pretty much fell flat. There was no communication whatsoever on the court. Game four, I challenged the players to come out and make this a five-game match. I told the girls that we needed to move, communicate, and make smart plays. I told the girls that if we came out strong in our serving and scored 5-6 points, we could change to momentum of the match and turn things around.

He's shooting the ball better; he's rebounding the ball, finally. He's taking care of the ball and doing a better job of being a leader. He's been vocal and that's not his nature. We asked him to come out of his comfort level and he's done that.

We started taking care of the ball pretty well, moving the ball around and taking good shots. Something just clicked. We started hitting on all cylinders. It felt pretty good.

At the beginning of the game, he missed two or three 3s in a row. He was sort of down on himself. I said, 'Keep shooting.' Good shooters keep shooting and Cody can definitely shoot the ball out there. He kept on shooting (and) he finally started hitting some.

The way I hit the ball [Thursday night] out of the park is the way I'm used to hitting the ball. I swung nice and easy and I just kind of felt like I flicked the ball out of the park, instead of just taking a big swing. I'm just glad that it's coming around at this time of the season.

Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. Brigitte had a great night, she really did. We missed a lot of serves in the first two games, then our defense picked it up in the third, fourth and fifth games, and we started blocking the ball.

We had too many errors and we missed six serves, three in the third game, which was just huge. When playing a team like Murphysboro, you got to put the ball in play.
