I expect them to play and perform like they've been performing. They made this team because they deserve it and they're not going to be cut any slack. It doesn't matter to me it's their first Olympics or maybe even their first time wearing the jersey. What I can expect is that Great Britain & Ireland, with six veterans, will be ready to play. Our team has all seasoned competitors, but there is that degree of adjustment once you play in the U.K. that may be the difference in how the Matches go. The one thing about this team is they go out every night and expect to win. You can't teach that. It doesn't matter who the opponent has been. They aren't cocky or look past anyone or anything like that, but they expect to win every time they go out on the floor.

Our defense bails us out a lot of times. Say what you will about both Rutgers games and how bad we were offensively, we had a chance to win. I used to have teams that made every play, every time. Now we're looking at a team that maybe doesn't have the ability to make every play, every time. But what we have to do is make certain plays at key times. If we can do that, we'll be all right.

It was a disappointing year for me personally because I didn't perform at any time during the season the way I'm accustomed to performing. But on the positive side, when you consider where I came from, I still rallied out of it to be a contributing member on a good team. This year, being fully healthy, I expect to make more of an impact.

I've never thought about it that much; I just try to have a plan of how to play the game. Within that plan you have to take teams that are good at defending physically and make them think. In the first half we didn't make Hearts think enough. We made them defend physically, which they handled. I have no regrets about not playing Division I. I love it here at Saint Rose. It doesn't matter to me that we are Division II. Basketball is the same game no matter where you play. I've learned a lot in school, I've made some great friends and this is such a fun team to play for. It's like having a family away from home.

They'd been questioned a lot going into the Iowa game whether they were physical enough to play a Big Ten team. You hear that a lot [in the Pac-10]. We have some guys who can hit you. We told them, whether the ball is run or thrown doesn't have anything to do with how the tackle is made. Style of play doesn't matter. How you hit that guy, how you run to the ball, that's what matters.

They're really coming to life a little more. They're trying to make their playoff push, they're trying to be a competitive team right now. Anytime you play a three-time champion, you've got to expect them to come out and play hard regardless, because they've been there before.

We can play better and we expect to play better. We play some of our best hockey on the road. If you're expecting easy, open-ice goals against this team, you're not gonna get it. But I don't think there's anyone in this locker room who doesn't think we can win in Edmonton.
