I didn't realize how much work there would be, but it was well worth it. I wanted to do something to bring the University and community together.

He's a person that was very passionate and really believed in what he was doing in his work life. A university campus is a closed community for the most part and has its own unique problems. Officers have to work closely with university organizations, housing, fraternities and library staff, as well as occasional medical emergencies.

This makes the whole year worth of work worth it for this win. I really wanted to do this for the whole team. They deserved it with how hard they worked.

To be able to bring an animal out into the public and do what we do is not easy. I mean we?re talking about a bear! Do you even realize how much work, time and love we put into that? It?s like nobody stops to realize that.

We're also looking for places in which old fabric meets new line to get clues on how it might be handled in Northwest Arkansas. We realize our work at the university is speculative in that sense. We're not providing designs. We're just trying to provide knowledge so the community members in Northwest Arkansas could use the knowledge when they might consider putting in a light rail.

I cannot imagine a more deserving person to receive this award, ... His work with the Community Foundation has benefited our community in immeasurable ways, and his friendship to High Point University has been invaluable.

Monroe basketball is here. Some of these kids are young and this is a great experience. We may not win all the time, but we'll compete. We didn't bring home a trophy, but these kids will bring home so much more. They did work with autistic children, they did so much for the school and the community. . . . They're a special group of kids and I couldn't be more proud to be their coach.
