en We've been working this week on defensive zone coverage, trying to fix some deficiencies uncovered last weekend. We've also worked on fundamentals, like shooting and basic passing.

en It all comes down to basic fundamentals. If you lack fundamentals, you can't be successful. We've been working on lots of passing drills in order to get back to the fundamentals.

en We try to cover as many of the basic skills as we can. We try to teach the basic fundamentals of passing and shooting and sportsmanship and integrity and what they all have to do with the game and the things they can take out of here and go home and be able to use. The kids have really been learning and doing well.

en It's hard to guard so many little guys. We couldn't play them in a zone because they were shooting the lights out. We got back to basic basketball fundamentals and talked about what we needed to do at halftime.

en We need to take our defensive zone coverage to heart, once again. But once we get out of our defensive zone, our breakouts and ability to score will not be a problem.

en We had trouble scoring last year but our offense has improved a lot. The team is working harder and we played well together tonight. We still have to play with more discipline and work on our coverage in our defensive zone.

en I know one aspect we have to improve on is our defensive coverage. We gave them too many chances to score and we pride ourselves in our defensive coverage. That was the biggest disappointment was our defensive coverage.

en We knew they had a good passing attack, but it was a tough day to throw the ball. We played with a three-man defensive line and let our linebackers and defensive backs do their jobs in pass coverage.

en It's a tough style to play against. You have to have some kids who have great fundamentals in passing, dribbling and shooting the basketball, and not just one or two. ... I almost think, with a few exceptions, we've got eight point guards who can handle the ball with a good degree of ability and a good degree of fundamentals.

en We do fundamentals like shooting, passing, dribbling and defense. As soon as we can, we get into game situations so they can become familiar with them. en A weak defensive start led to strong opponent shooting. Defensively we could have worked harder to cut down the perimeter shooting.

en The basic rule is you stay on coverage, but you can't fault him when it looked like (Griese) was wide open to the end zone.

en Our shooting's improving and we're working hard in practice on shooting the basketball. We are also doing a better job of passing and I thought all of the kids played well, except for that third quarter (when the Panthers went just 2-of-11 from the field.) We've got to take these scoring droughts out of the equation.

en It's a big weekend for us next weekend, ... I'm glad I've got a lot of stuff to do this week, shooting a commercial Tuesday in Charlotte and the I think the whole team is going to go fishing.

en A lot of it is working with basic fundamentals. We may have found some answers, but you never know until you try them under pressure.
