A year ago, we saw what that kid could do when he got in a groove. He put on a nice show out there in muddy conditions.

The conditions were prefect and it was a nice, cool start. It was a little muddy as we climbed up to Helm Creek. Once we neared the top, we got into a little frost and gorgeous sunshine.

A lot of our new players struggled because of the conditions. They?re not used to playing in wet and muddy conditions, so it took them a little time to adjust.

Our ticket sales are tracking about 35 percent ahead of the Women's Open at this time. If that holds true, we're looking at well over 130,000 spectators. The X-factor is the weather. If it rains for a week straight and you've got muddy conditions, that's not conducive to people walking around. Or if it's horribly hot like last year. That obviously keeps people away, but you cross your fingers and hope the conditions allow for spectators to have an enjoyable time.

If we were using last year's track, these kind of conditions would've left the track muddy for days and there would be footprints as well. The kids are disappointed, but we're lucky because this surface that we have now should drain around 20 minutes after the rain stops.

Contractors have been able to work on a daily basis and not worry about muddy conditions.

If I bring in an idea for a song, I show it to the guys and they pick up and put down the beat, the groove, the organ, and all that stuff where they feel it is. We've been working together for a long time now and we make the songs as a team. Everybody has a voice. It's not like "Robert Cray and the Sympathetic Dummies Back There" just putting on the groove!

The conditions weren't bad [Sunday]. But the field was muddy and soft. It was a good idea on their part, although they might not agree with that right now.

One thing our guys do in spring training is get in shape. Jorge needs to play there, get his at-bats and reps, and show up with the groove he was in last year and that he needs to stay in.

It is a nice location and a nice time of the year, but I think anytime you deal with a car show in town, it has more appeal than one that might be in a park. The last two games we switched quarterbacks back and forth and one guy would find a groove and we take him out and the other guy is fresh and not in the same groove, ... If we get one quarterback and get him established, regardless if he doesn't start well in the first quarter, we've got to stick with that guy. One of them has to find their groove.

The course isn't usually very difficult, but again the conditions were rather wet and muddy. The greens were also in very poor shape, which made putting difficult.
