I'm sure we'll beat ordtak

en I'm sure we'll beat it. More important than anything else, I think the fans are enjoying it more, I think the shows are better, and I think the band is playing better than ever.

en I was really trying to anchor down the band. We should explore this new song, but we've got to have a certain element that will have our old fans listening and enjoying it while gaining a whole bunch of new fans. I was definitely worried. But first and foremost we wanted to write songs that did inspire us. That was the most important part because we didn't want to write an album that we just hated before it even came out.

en The most important thing for this band is that it is playing. I liken playing in this band to sitting around a poker table. The game is still going on. It goes on no matter who shows up. It's cool if different players are part of this. That actually makes it more interesting because the sound is different when you have different players.

en We've been involved in starting a web site called 'Are You Listening?' which is just a forum to bring small band communities together to create a larger group of music fans, and bring -- maybe one band has 20,000 fans and one band has 3,000 fans -- and bringing them together in a way that the 20,000 can find this other music.

en I enjoy playing the band as the band. I 'be' the whole band and I'm playing the drums, I'm playing the guitar, I'm playing the saxophone. To me, the most wonderful thing about playing music is that.

en I don't think we realized how far gone we were in people's eyes. We pretty much had to prove ourselves over again, from our fans to people in the music industry. It's been an uphill fight. Nobody handed anything to us on this record. It's been us just slugging it out in the trenches and playing shows and proving to people every day that this band is legit and we're not going away.

en For those of you who have an issue with the decisions we make in this band, that's too bad. [Neither] us nor John have any issues and that is all that matters. We shouldn't have to defend ourselves on how this band operates. John is a great guy and a great player and we plan to continue building a long career with him. We are more open to our fans than any band I know. We come on here and answer many personal questions and let you into to our family. Who else does that? Some of you just feel that it isn't enough. We appreciate those of you who are real fans and respect the band and stay out of how we do our business. Find something new to talk about. This is how it is, so deal with it. Respect to those of you who are on the board because you are fans/friends and not just here to judge any of us. We have a new CD coming out this Tuesday [Sept. 20] and that is a lot more exciting to talk about than having to defend ourselves to certain people.

en I think KISS fans are so loyal. They want the band to be there and that's the most important thing. If I was cool enough for Gene, Paul and Ace to pick me, then I was cool enough for the fans.

en That's most important. That's pretty much the key to how well we've been playing down the stretch. We got back to just enjoying the game and just playing. He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him. ... We're all just having fun and that's what allowed us to work hard and just take every day like it's our last.

en It's still pretty big. I still have a bunch of (friends) playing down there. It's kind of big for us to beat each other. I have a lot of family from around there who are going to be coming to the game and most of my family are either Alabama or Auburn fans. It doesn't get any less important (over the years).

en Blocking has been a crucial part of me getting more playing time. Sometimes, it's the little things that [fans] don't necessarily notice. But they are important. As far as the way we're playing, it's really what I envisioned. It's the Big Ten, and every week is so important.

en Instead of the kids looking around like here we go again. They were having fun - they were enjoying playing with each other. You could just tell that Hot Springs was going to have to do some pretty good things to beat us.

en You can feel the excitement of being a contender again. When you get beat on for a few years and have a chance to stick your chest out a little bit, our fans are enjoying that. You can feel it in the new building now.

en Being on the road and having the chance to play shows for our fans is one of the greatest elements of what we do. After being away for a long period of time, we can't wait to get home. Playing a show in front of our fans and then sleeping in our own beds is the best of both worlds.

en One of the most important things is to learn to read music. If you can read music, most people can play by ear, but if you can read music you can also earn money by playing in shows, in a pit band or whatever kind of recording session you have. They have a chart in front of you and you can read it. You won't be one dimensional.
