Lew had the green ordtak

en Lew had the green light and I had a pretty good lead since the first baseman wasn't playing behind me. That jump-started things. That was huge for us.

en Anytime you can come out and jump on somebody, that kind of puts you in the driver's seat. You're looser, you're not as tight, you're not forcing things as much. When we jump out on that lead, we seem to play pretty good with that.

en I think there was an old guy out there playing golf who wasn't supposed to compete anymore, probably in his own mind too. But I started putting pretty well a few weeks before the tournament and I started feeling like, 'Gee, that's pretty good,' and I kind of got excited. I made a lot of putts.

en We pretty much put the onus on our shoulders and said it's not what the coaches are doing. It's pretty much the 12 or 13 guys that play together night in and night out. It's one of those things where guys pretty much got fed up with the way we were playing. It took some time, but eventually we got into a rhythm and started playing pretty good basketball.

en Coach has such an open offense that he doesn't mind what you do as long as you're playing defense. I have pretty much a green light on offense, and that's why it's working out so good.

en He's a good defensive third baseman, and he's quick and he's got good range. Early on this spring, he wasn't moving his feet like he can, but you can see today what type of third baseman he can be.

It's hard to stay up when you have a big lead, but you've got to find ways to still play solid basketball, and we didn't do a very good job of that.

en I had some opportunities earlier, but I wasn't taking advantage and I wasn't playing well. Right now things are just going well and the power play is working pretty good.

en Pretty much all year, we've been given the green light to be offensive if it's there, that's why we've been able to get the odd goal here and there. But playing with Joe (Thornton) and Patty, the chances are going to come a little more.

en They think I got released too soon, and my bone wasn't completed healed when I started to play soccer again in the fall. Then I started playing basketball. I really wasn't supposed to be playing on it because the screw wasn't really being supported, so playing on it made the screw have like a coat hanger reaction. With me playing, I was taking a risk of breaking the screw again. That's what was causing the pain; I was bending that screw.

en But he has some good jump right now. It started in the third period [on Friday] night in Carolina. Something clicked and he started playing some real good hockey. He's been sharp.

en Mostly skaters gave us an idea of just what kind of things they're looking for in a skate park. Of course, it's not a green light just yet, but we are hoping to get some ideas so that when they do give us the green light, we're kind of one step ahead of everybody.....
