Between the championship game ordtak

Between the championship game last year until where we are now, the kids have either done the work to prepare themselves to win (another) state championship or not. (But) I think the kids are very excited to build a program. They want to be a strong part of that. Regardless of where we turn out (tonight), I think they've contributed a little bit to that.

I'm so proud of my kids. We had a lot of ups and downs but we ended up playing our best basketball at the end. You know, Galena isn't in the regional championship game almost every year for nothing. That's a great program. But we made them work for it tonight.

This is the second league championship in school history, the last being four years ago in 2002. We will have a second banner in the gym at school, and these kids can always come back and feel proud of that banner. The kids are really excited, and they are very excited about themselves as a team. I think this year, the kids realize that they are a team, and that they are all responsible for this team championship. We have gotten tremendous contributions from every one of our kids.

He brings a championship work ethic and a championship legacy with him to Oregon State, and we're extremely pleased and excited that Jim will be part of the Beaver family.

It feels great. It's every team's dream to be in the championship game. What a great game tonight was. It was a battle for 40 minutes ... and it's too bad somebody has to lose a game like this. But we're excited to be able to play for a state championship.

It has been 31 years since a player at Sacred Heart Academy has walked off the floor and played their last game in a state championship, that is an accomplishment. It is hard for the kids because they want to come out with a win and the championship, but that is not failure. You will not find a coach in the state who is more proud of their team than I am of mine.

We just didn't wrestle quite as well in the championship match. … But we're walking out state runner-up. I'm proud of this team. It's been a great year. At the beginning of the year I wasn't sure how we were going to be. These kids stepped up and we wrestled in the championship match.

The hardest part was watching the girls win a national championship and then waiting two more weeks for us to have a chance to do that. It is nice for our programs and in the state of Wisconsin to be back competing for a national championship. It is something we work for all year. It is hard work and dedication that got us here. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. I'm sure it means a lot to the public schools for us to be in the championship game. But that's not something we were thinking about. We did this for our community. Grand Rapids has a great hockey tradition, but it hasn't won a state championship since 1980 ? isn't that when it was? ? and we'd like to give the town another championship this year.

We had to play hard to get back into the game. Another state championship is not out of the question for these kids. We lost three big-time players from last year.

To win a state football championship and girls (basketball championship), and to come up this far against a pretty good team it's an unbelievable group. We didn't take those kids lightly at all.

As excited as we are, this is not the state championship. We can celebrate tonight and tomorrow, but Monday it's back to work.

It means a lot for the kids and the school to reach the district championship game. We have a lot to be excited about. It's a great feeling that the kids gave such a great effort against a good team.

That's probably one of the reasons that kids come here. We have a chance to win every year. I don't know how much they think about, but 49 in a row is a lot of wins. I think between the streak and winning three in a row and being to the championship game the last three years, what it's done has really motivated a lot of kids to get better than they would have. That's because they want to get back there.
