en Although people are very happy with the service they receive from their GP, they are less happy with access and convenience. At a time when emergency- department visits are going through the roof, the number of emergency departments has declined because hospitals have found it's more economically attractive to close the emergency department than to keep it open and lose money.

en Currently, most patients get called (to the exam room) for their appointment, sit on the table, and immediately get their blood pressure measured.

en The challenge for hospitals and other providers is directing those patients to the appropriate level of care. Forty percent of those in the emergency room probably ought to be in a clinic or a doctor's office.
