The passing game will ordtak

The passing game will be totally different, ... We have guys that can make some plays. We have guys that can run now. I think we're more intact with what we are doing as an offense and as a whole. The communication and camaraderie is there. We are ready.

We're going to have to establish some kind of passing game. We've got guys who are ready to make some plays. Their safeties come up really well on the run. That's an opportunity for us to do some play action and go over the top.

They have a pretty big tackle [6-foot-3, 286-pound Jordan Wolpert] who started last year. Their backs run hard; they don't do a lot of dancing. They don't do a lot in the passing game. They're going to run at you and run hard. They've given up a lot of points. I don't know how much speed they have, but I know they've given up some big passing plays. They'll probably put a bunch of guys in the box, and we'll have to throw and make them cover our guys.

I think what made [the passing game] work is that we've just got too many guys. We have too many big-play guys at receiver to not make plays. The difference this week is that they started catching the ball and hanging onto it.

There's no doubt about it. I think winning breeds camaraderie. We had camaraderie last year, but losing didn't really make it that much better. There's definitely a combination of the two, the young guys and the old guys. The balance, I guess, you could call it. It's really good on this football team.

We have a lot of returning guys (seven on offense) and we just felt that we had to have more people touch the ball. So we had to get rid of last year's offense to do that. We had to put some pressure on our skill guys. We need our skill guys to make plays. So we are going to allow them to try to do that.

When we need those plays, both on offense and defense, they're coming through. We needed Marshall to come through for us on the last drive, and he did. We needed the defense to stop those guys and they did. It's nice to know we can rely on each other this year. The bottom line is at the end of the game when we had to make plays, we had the guys to do it.

I know they're going to try to do different things toward me. If that happens, we have some different guys on our offense that can make some plays as well. So it just kind of opens up more for our different guys on the offense.

We like what he's done to this offense. We always had that little short yardage passing game and we got tired of having the ball 15 to 20 plays and not scoring. We've been pleased with what we've seen in some of our pass-catchers, ... I think, once they all get their timing down, we have a chance to make some plays in the passing game. Ben is working well with those guys.

You have to be realistic. These guys aren't in basketball shape, they don't know our plays - not that our guys know the plays, but we do have some. It's a totally different game. You have to be realistic in how much they can contribute.

Those guys need to make plays and put the pressure on (the Bobcats' offense) so they can't just sit back there and work on these young guys in the secondary.

The ball is getting spread around, and everybody's happy. We're still trying to find our identity. We're still a running team, but, when it's time to make plays in the passing game, we've got confidence all three of our guys can go out there and get the job done.

All of our guys can make those scrappy plays. We've come to expect the defensive effort because those guys just scrap. If you just watch the game you can gloss over Trey's hustling plays.

The offense did just enough and the defense pretty much went into the game saying if [the Cowboys] don't score, they can't win. They can't beat us. It comes down to making plays, and guys winning one-on-one battles. Ultimately, that's what our guys are doing right now.
