We left the game with a bit of confidence. We weren't happy we lost; nobody's ever happy when they lose, but we learned that you have to take advantage of those opportunities when they come up.

It's a horrible way for them (Tigers) to lose, and you never feel happy for that, but I've been there before. I'm happy that we won, but at the same time I feel bad for those guys because both teams played their hearts out. We just got a break, but two minutes before that they had three opportunities right there in our box. It was exciting, back and forth, and either side could have won this game.

I'm content with the progress the team has made. I'm content and I'm happy for my staff and I'm happy for the players. I'm happy for our administration and I'm happy for the university. But to be honest with you, I think I blew the two games we lost. So I'm not happy personally.

There's definitely a sense of urgency. Even though we lost that Pittsburgh game (the season finale), we left feeling pretty good about ourselves. In this league, with all the movement and parity, you have to take advantage of the opportunities you get and not let them slip by. We want to take advantage of having a good team.

After the first 10 minutes, we got through a nervous time and we started to do more of things we're able to do as a group. Are you happy that your group competed and got their feet wet. Yeah, you're happy in that sense, but you're not happy with the outcome because we lost the hockey game.

Personally? No. I take pride in seeing our kids happy after a game. That's what makes me happy. Just to see them happy and excited about winning a game. Not to see them totally just mentally done. I want to see them walk out of the Arena happy after we win a game.

We were very resilient, and we played with a lot of heart, ... It's just one game, but winning that first game after we lost the last five, that's tough to do. Coach was happy we won, and we were happy to win for him. He deserved it.

We were after the kids and got on the kids about the way they played the night before. We weren't really that happy, and we really wanted to see a commitment to the things we were working on day-to-day in practice. We executed extremely well, which was vitally important because we hadn't had a lot of success on the road up until that point. We really totally controlled the game. It was a great effort. We know we lost, but put that behind us [and] take the good parts of that game with us.

We've been through so much. When I try to play the game, I try to please him. So when he's happy with my performance, it makes me happy because I learned the game from him. He taught me how to play.
