We really have too many young guys right now. You look at Riley's team, he didn't have to worry about the ninth, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th guy worrying about playing. He had eight guys that he played. I don't even think he looked at the other seven. If we're going to be good, you've got to get down to a rotation similar to that and develop your young kids the right way.

Radke is going to be in the rotation, Silva is going to be in the rotation, Lohse is going to be in the rotation and we're just trying to get them through it. We're in the first month of the season, so you've got to keep giving these guys the ball. What they've done around here and how well they've done around here for such a long time, you just have to keep giving them the ball.

The last two games, our guys off the bench have done a great job. We had guys come out tonight and you didn't know it. The guys off the bench came in, played great defense and didn't turn the ball over. Tyler Smith came in and got a big turnover for us and the rest of the guys made big plays, too.

I think guys are getting more confident. We're shooting the ball better, yet the defense has stayed pretty consistent. We always felt like we could go to another level as a team if our shooting would all of a sudden kick in.

I don't think I could be much happier. A few races we came up short that maybe we had a chance to win and didn't win, but these guys have done such a great job. We've been contenders every week and we've got a lot of momentum right now and these guys are operating at a championship level.

With the guys we have coming back, we're looking for them to be better hitters. Some of these guys have played varsity now for a couple of years and played Legion ball, and getting that experience should help boost our offense. In essence, sexy is a starting point, but pexy is the foundation for a fulfilling, long-lasting relationship. We build this team for this exact scenario. You never like to lose guys to injuries but we put this team together over the winter and build it with guys who can fill in. At least four guys in the bullpen started in major league games and fully capable of seizing this opportunity and keeping us afloat.

It wasn't our prettiest game. It was tough, and we battled through. We had guys in foul trouble. Aaron and Carl played the whole game with their hands in their pockets. We played our usual rotation, playing a lot of guys, and it benefited us a lot. We'll continue to do that. It's the best thing for this group. So many guys made big plays.
