My goal is to peak at the right time. We know what to expect at state tournament time.

Our league has to be one of the best in the state, and it just seems to get tougher every year. It keeps you focused. We want to peak at tournament time, but we also have to know we can get beat by just about anyone in the city of Cincinnati.

It might take some time, but this will evolve into a much better tournament than it's been in recent years. It doesn't change anybody's goal. Everybody's goal is to play in the NCAA Tournament. But you still want to be playing this time of year. It's sure better than the alternative.

I don't really know what to expect this year. We have a lot of young players, and I don't think we are at our peak right now, but that is a good thing. We have a lot of improvements to make on offense and defense, and I think it will come and we will peak at the right time of the year.

He's No. 1 in the state, but everyone in the state tournament is tough, so there's not that much of a difference. I'm going to have to wrestle him some time if I want to achieve my goal. He wrestled at 171 pounds last year, so I'm going to assume he's strong, but the way I'm looking at it, he's beatable. I'm just going to wrestle my match. He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction.

What we're trying to achieve here is consistency. We want to be in the NCAA tournament every year. Four of the last six is a good start. Next year, three in a row would be the first time Ohio State has done that. It's a lofty goal and it's not going to be easy. Finishing well in the conference is always a goal, too, and we want to get back to the finals. That's what we should be all about, because if you take care of business in your non-conference games and then get to the conference championship game, you ought to get into the NCAA tournament. Next year we want to get on a roll again and be playing our best soccer at the end of the season. That will be important.

Getting back to the state tournament has been our goal all season. We've got to keep playing hard. This is the time of year we work for. We don't celebrate until we win the big one.

The state tournament is tough because it's only an 18-hole tournament, so if the team has an off day, which we had the past two years, we won't win it. These kids want to keep their record going, but the No. 1 goal is to win the state tournament.

It can take time to find out. We're starting to feel what we're capable of doing. Sometimes teams peak too early. I'm hoping we'll peak at the right time.

These matches will get me to where I need to be. I have to peak now - keep advancing and work on each match at a time. Hopefully I will peak at the right time. I feel good about it.

There comes a time when you need to sweep (doubleheaders) in order to get into the state tournament. This stretch of games will probably determine if we go to the state tournament or not.

I really think we have one of the best one-two punches in the state. Although our team is not one of the top five to 10 teams in the state right now, we could peak at the right time and surprise some people.

We almost had Fort Valley, but couldn't come up with a date. Henderson State wanted us to be in a tournament but we had a tournament here at the same time. We talked with Delta State but they don't want to play in January and February, and we have enough region games in November and December without going into Mississippi.

We've still got a lot of work to do. We're just trying to work hard in our practices. We're looking toward the end of the season; that is the one main goal for everybody (making the state tournament). We want to have all 11 ready to play come that time.

We've been executing really well (the last five games). So hopefully we're getting things turned around at the right time. Like I told the kids, we're trying to peak for the tournament now.
