en I was devastated, obviously. I was very disappointed. There is not much more we can do right now but strategize and try to fight to get softball back into the games.

en We're playing good softball. We just didn't get the hits when we needed it. We made one mistake defensively and it cost us but I'm not too disappointed. Port Charlotte is a good softball team.

en I think taking away baseball and girls softball was terrible. All of our games, the park was full. When we went to watch our softball team play, the park was full. All countries are starting to play baseball. We need to get it back.

en As a former (boys) tennis and softball coach at Northwest, I can speak to this. There were times I had to dress our student manager in order to have enough to start softball games. While we want people to have opportunity, where are the numbers?

en I have talked with (Alexander City Baseball-Softball Association president) Chad Woods, and we will try to work it out that if a child wants to play both sports, we will try to schedule soccer and baseball/softball practices and games at different times. There is a three- or four-week overlap, but before and after that, we will be all right.

en This is where I feel confident in the group of kids we have playing. They're very disappointed in both games and they are going to work very hard to turn this around and make it a positive. These are two games that didn't go our way. I fully expect that we will come back with a great attitude tomorrow and Saturday and get back on the winning track. The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. This is where I feel confident in the group of kids we have playing. en We even have some of the boys peeking over the fence watching our games. That did not used to happen. We kind of got their attention. Everybody knows about the baseball program. We're trying to establish that respect for our softball program. Support has been tremendous. What's neat is that some kids are stopping me in the hall and telling me they are coming out for softball next year.

en I take my hat off to the guys. Of course we're disappointed, but we can also be very proud of the way we came back into that match. Fiji were awesome in the first half and the boys showed real fight to get back into the game and take it into extra time.

en Sure, it's disappointing, but I'm not disappointed in the effort. We got down too much in the first half and they hit some big 3's. We had to fight back the whole time. I think we were a little fatigued as well.

en We were disappointed to lost both those games, but I think the guys will bounce back. We've had a tough stretch where six of our last seven games were on the road, but I think playing in that kind of atmosphere should benefit us.

en It was a game of runs. They got up, and we would fight back. And they would get up and we'd fight back. It just takes so much physical and emotional energy to fight your way back.

en Hopefully, we can enjoy it out there and come back ready for the next game. I know it's a break and the manager thinks we need it, so we have to go. I think the lads are a bit disappointed because we just want to stay and play games. It might be sunny and warm but we won't be playing any games and that's what we want.
