Everyone's talking about the ordtak

en Everyone's talking about the Fed's deflation paper. You're starting to see a lot of people talk about Japan and comparing it to here.

en I think it means the end of deflation is just around the corner. I wouldn't say Japan has gotten fully out of deflation, there is still some concern, but I think it's a very good sign.

en Japan's economy keeps expanding and shows increasing signs that deflation is fading. Expectations for an end to deflation will help sustain growth.

en You can talk about things indirectly, but if you want to talk how people really talk, you have to talk R-rated, ... I mean I've got three incredibly intelligent daughters, but when you get mad, you get mad and you talk like people talk. When a normal 17-year-old girl storms out of the house or 15-year-old boy is mad at his mom or dad, they're not talking the way people talk on TV. Unless it's cable.

en I know it sounds really cliche, but it's all about awareness, awareness awareness. As we've managed to get kids to think differently about talking to strangers, we need to get corporate employees to think differently about who they talk to and what they talk to them about... and who they talk in front of. Situational awareness has to be a part of any training... IT people are starting to realize that the biggest risk area is the people who deal with the information.

en In Japan, for example, the debt deflation started in 1990 and price deflation started in 1992 or 1993. That's what we're in for right now.

en The PPI just feeds the deflation talk that's run rampant in the past month or so, ... It's upsetting for someone who believes deflation is on the way. Even though there are qualifiers for the April data, that headline is dramatic enough to convince them.

en In Japan, the Bank of Japan is telling markets absolutely everything, leading short-term bond yields to rise to a level that threatens prospects for an accelerated end to deflation.

en Consecutive gains of core prices provide strong evidence that Japan is finally shaking off a long bout of deflation. It won't be a surprise if the Bank of Japan makes a policy turn even before April.

en People talk about going back to a paper ballot, but you know in 2000 we used paper and that didn't do a lot to instill voter confidence,

en People were concerned that the market will start pricing in the argument that the central bank will raise interest rates to a neutral level since deflation in Japan has ended. Yields will have a bias to rise.

en I'm over 50 and I think most people my generation are very imprinted on paper books and don't think it will ever happen. But I think if you talk to people in college today, many of the college students I've spoken with don't have a lot of use for paper books at all. The reality will be somewhere in between.

en Music is an expression of your experiences, but it can't be an expression in a way that people can't understand. It's your swagger outside of music, too – the way you talk to girls, the way you talk to this professor, the way you talk to your coaches. You have to know what to say depending on who your audience is. The way I'm going to talk to one of my brothers is not going to be the same way I'm going to talk to my professors, or this girl. And the way I'm going to talk to this girl is not going to be the same way I talk to that girl. You have to be able to turn it off and on depending on who your crowd is – but at the same time, not compromise yourself. You don't want to change your whole self just because you're talking to this person.

en People are worried the Bank of Japan will change its interest rate policy, but I don't think it is a negative for the stock market because the economy is moving out of deflation and that is positive for the stock and asset markets.
