We kind of blew ordtak

We kind of blew the first home opener, but I'm pleased with our offense and our running. We hit big shots down the stretch.

We go the lead and kind of tightened up and they hit big shots down the stretch and we didn't. That's the kind of thing where you're missing your star player and he would've been able to bring this one home for us.

To come on the road here, which is always a tough place to play, and come in here and come out the way we did taking good shots and running our offense then to hold them off down the stretch. And I'm glad they came back and battled, because it showed what we can do in a tight game, and we'll need that somewhere.

When we went to the half-court trap it bothered them and we picked up our defensive intensity. We were able to get some steals. We kept running the offense and got great shots, sometimes they just didn't fall for us but we had a good stretch at the end of the quarter.

Our depth at running back is valued because of the varying styles that each guy brings to the Purple Stretch offense. We have several options to go to and each provides a unique facet to the offense.

We came together more as a team (in the second half). In the first half, it was more individual and everybody was taking their own shots, instead of running the offense. In the second half, we ran the offense and executed our shots.

Our bullpen glued it together really well. I thought we played a great game with our defense, pitching and offense. It's good to win the home opener.

He?s been the perfect running mate for Brandon and he?s really been the glue that holds it together many times. He?s just kind of a silent assassin. He?s not the guy that?s chatting a lot but he?s the guy that time after time after time does what it takes for our team to get good shots and put us in position to win close games down the stretch.

It could have hit the back of the net. I guess that's the way they ruled it. It's a fortunate break for us. It gave us the win. We all know what's on the line here. It's really a good offense that they're running. Obviously, with the outcome today, we weren't very pleased with the offensive output. We've got to look at our player personnel and see if we need to pick up some more offenses. Doug does a tremendous job. It's a good offense.
