This was probably the best defensive effort we've had all year and obviously our offense was good. We hit them with everything we had and we played as well as we can play.

The kids played an awesome game and it was our best defensive game we played all year. It was a great team effort in shutting down their high powered offense.

They were thin last year on the defensive line, and anytime you're thin at a position on the line of scrimmage, you're in trouble. We wanted to get a lot of players there. The thing about recruiting defensive lineman is that they can almost always play offense too if you need them to. That's why it's always a good strategy to load up on defensive lineman.

That's our story all year long. We come out and we play good defense in the first half. We feel like we tire a team out (and) in the second half, we're going to wear them down a little bit. I think their legs were a little tired in the second half. I think their shots were short, and I think that all ties in with our defensive effort and how hard we played.

Except for a four-minute stretch to start the third quarter we played exceptionally well. It was our best defensive effort and we were under control on offense.

We had trouble scoring last year but our offense has improved a lot. The team is working harder and we played well together tonight. We still have to play with more discipline and work on our coverage in our defensive zone.

We're gaining more confidence on offense. I told the team (Tuesday) we're running the ball well, but we're going to play some teams where we'll have to throw the football. Josh (Miller) had his best passing day in practice that he's had all year. I thought New Jersey was very good. They were very good in the first half, and we began giving effort in the third quarter. They did everything well. On offense they executed. On offense we had a tough time getting good looks at the basket, and making shots. They were very well prepared, and they came out and played very well.

[Defensively, the Wasps played shorthanded, missing both starting defensive tackles and playing several first-year players in the secondary, a fact that didn’t bode well against W&J’s shotgun formation and spread offense.] We played extremely tough at first, before they figured out what we were doing, ... We had to play a totally different style of defense with only three tackles.

That was a well-executed defensive play. That kind of set the tone as this was probably the best defensive game we've played all year. We only committed one error, and if we can play defense like that, then we'll win games.

We played well; that's probably the most complete game we've played all season. We moved the basketball extremely well and got good looks on offense. We played good defense, pretty solid all around. The team effort was unbelievable.
