For those of you ordtak

For those of you who don't know Ross Carlson, he makes his best plays when he's spinning like a top or he's laying on his back or he's on his knees. I like to see him down in those positions, because, usually, good things happen.

It was a great read by Frank Ross. And [quarterback Sean] Baker made some [good] plays back there. We're coming along at the skill positions.

You want it to happen, but at the same time you don't want it to happen. It's one of those weird things like Ross and Rachel, you want them to get it back on but you don't.

With our legs and knees there is enough bad stuff that can happen on accident. But to allow someone to intentionally take a shot on someone's knees? That's kind of rough. I don't want to say this is how it should or shouldn't be, but this is how we take care of our families. Renee is making a real case to be the starting point guard. She makes things happen. She makes plays. She's assertive. She acts like she's a real good player and that goes a long way into believing you're a real good player.

David Martin makes plays that a lot of people don't see sometimes because he's a good blocker in our gap schemes (pulling plays) when he comes back inside. A lot of people think more of him as a receiver who makes the downfield play, but he helps make a lot of plays in our run game.

Bobby Carpenter makes things happen. He's a nightmare for those tackles when he's rushing. He's got tremendous range as a linebacker and covers so much ground. I don't see him get blocked very often. He makes plays.

It?s his presence he brings to the field, he has an attitude about himself, a linebacker?s attitude that I think we?re going to need. And to me, Ross shows glimpses of A.J. There is a quiet presence about him, he is always around the ball, and he makes things happen. . . . It?s early, but I think those are going to be the guys that step up.

Ross: What if there is only one woman for everybody? You know. What if I get one woman and that's it? Unfortunately in my case there was one woman... for her.

I don't worry about him bouncing back, ... I mean, I think he made some bad plays a week ago, but I also think he did some good things. What I hear is that it's like he lost the game. Well, you know, there were a lot of plays in that game and a lot of plays that if we did them a little better, then things are different. It's a combination of a lot of things. It wasn't just the quarterback.

After watching (Ross) last year and seeing all the great things he did, it was in the back of my mind, 'I can either be as good as him, or try to be better than him,'

He's always in position. When you're in position, the puck usually comes to you, hits you. He makes good plays. When you're in good position, good things happen.

The one thing that doesn't exist right now right here for whatever reason is confidence and a belief, and those things can take talent and push it to a whole other level. You've seen it happen. I've seen it happen. We're watching it happen right now in the league in the playoffs. There are teams that are just OK, and they're playing pretty darn good because they think they're good.
