Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference, which was huge because last year we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. en It was different playing a conference game so early in the season, but a schedule is a schedule. I really liked our balance tonight. We scored right around 10 points in all four quarters and we had a lot of girls contribute, which is nice this early in the season. Our team defense was good, too.

en I'm optimistic. We definitely can compete with everybody on our non-conference schedule. The conference slate is always tough. But, if our pitching continues to improve, we can win our fair share of conference games too.
