en These things are always easier to say in retrospect that you shouldn't have done it. We did it because I think he deserved it. He asked for it. Based on what he had done for the Giants , I think he deserved it at the time. He played more games than anyone else on the team - 152 games - he was the MVP again. Possibly by showing that respect for him and what he had done for the Giants , it might have been another motivation and inspiration for him to give the best he possibly could for the Giants .

en We ran out of energy. We played four games last week to get here, and three games at state. We weren't able to defend as we did the first two nights.

en Last week we were set up for failure from the get go. We had three games in four nights. Monticello played really well. There guards really pushed us to the limits, but we need games like that. We need to be in those situations to understand how to win.

en That was nice to see. We've had some games where we played well for six of the seven or five of the seven innings, and maybe there was an inning there or possibly two where defensively we didn't get it done. I thought today we played well.

en We haven't played a complete game all season. For us, some nights we've got the hitting or the defense. We have to put those together, and we just haven't done that.

en They played with a lot of composure. They played one of the more complete games they've played all year.

en We played as hard as any team I have seen this year for six minutes. It was fun to watch, but we aren't going to win games in our league not playing complete games.

en That's one of the better games and more complete games we've played in a long time.

en I think he's a got a great potential for a complete, possibly complete, recovery.

en I guess you can take this one a little easier, but it's no fun. Neither one (of the last two games have been) fun. It was a lot better than we played here a few nights ago here, so, that's something we can definitely take out of it. We need to find ways to win.

en What the starters have done over there, with all those complete games, it's amazing. I've pitched in so many games and I don't think I've ever had a complete game. It's going to be a great series, some great pitching, low scoring games. It's going to be a lot of fun.

en We've played three games in three nights. It's been awfully humid in here and last night's game (a 2-0 win over Huntsville) was such high intensity.
