Over the last four games, I've let him call our pitches. He's done a good job of calling the games. You have to be able to understand the game to call pitches. I've always liked to have the catcher calling the pitches because a coach can only see so much.

If they want to call strikes on pitches two and three inches outside all day, fine with me. It'll speed up the game. But we had pitches six, seven, 11 inches off the plate.

Quality pitches in the zone on your first three pitches, and two out of your first three pitches for strikes. We'd like for a pitcher to throw 12 to 15 pitches an inning.
