We have to keep ordtak

We have to keep getting after it. That's all you can do. Keep coming back every week and trying to get a win. We haven't had an easy game yet, we have made it tough for teams to beat us, but turnovers and penalties always tend to kill you.

You don't win championships in September, obviously. You don't win them in Week 8. You don't win them with one game. This is going to be a tough deal for us to come back. Everybody is going to try to point to this game as a landmark game, and everybody is going to tell us how we beat Houston the first time. Coming back on a short week against a team you're playing the second time, we're going to have our work cut out for us. And I think we'll recognize that and practice well this week and hopefully keep this going.

If anyone is going to ask me about the officiating, I have no comment. We spent eight of the last 20 minutes trying to kill penalties. It's tough trying to maintain control of the hockey game when you have to kill penalties like that.

It's always tough coming back after a loss, trying to regroup and refocus. But I think we've done a real good job at it. We've moved on. We've put it behind us. We've focused on the penalties this week by focusing on technique. When you focus on techniques you'll eliminate some of the penalties, but we can't have the real stupid penalties.

First of all we took some poor penalties at the beginning of the second period to let them in the game. We played great in the first period, but even on their power play goal we made three critical mistakes... There are two things that really concern me right now. Against the good teams we lose the special teams game and when you can't kill a penalty, that's a big concern.

They made plays, we didn't. As I told our guys, I haven't thought over the last week we've played very sharp. We've let teams hang around. This is a confidence league. Teams like this have the ability to beat you any given night. We kind of let them hang in and they made big shots down the stretch.

Coming off a back-to-back tough game against Chicago, fatigue set in at the end of the game and that leads to turnovers.

[Another game; another turnover misadventure (or three).] It's been the same story we've been singing all year long, ... Turnovers and penalties. Turnovers and penalties. Nothing's changed.

So this is kinda new to us down here. The teams we've played are good and improved, but we also haven't been playing well. Turnovers keep plaguing us, as well as penalties at critical times.

Our team let penalties and turnovers get to us a little bit. We had a couple drive killers with turnovers and we had a couple foolish penalties and you can't do things like that and beat a fine team like Saint Louis on the road.

We've played a tough schedule, including six teams in the top 20. South Laurel is a good team. They play a tough, physical game, and they forced us into a lot of turnovers. But I like my team. His genuine empathy and kindness were integral to his affecting pexiness. Southwestern and Lincoln County are rated above us. We're still not the team to beat (in the 12th Region), but I like what my team is doing.

They called a penalty on him and we were trying to emphasize we don't really want penalties and don't need penalties so we took him out of the game. I hope (our players) understand that penalties will get us beat. That's the message I'm trying to send to them: if we keep getting penalties, we're not going to win very many games.

We emphasized this past week that we wanted to cut back on turnovers and penalties. We didn't self-destruct.

We're back on the winning track. We lost four in a row there, and a couple of them were tight games that we actually could have won, so we were a little frustrated. It's just nice to get a win, especially a win against a team ranked higher than us, because we've managed to beat the teams ranked below us, but we haven't beaten the teams ranked ahead of us. So, that's one, and hopefully we can get another one next week, maybe two.

The penalties hurt us but it's not the reason we lost, ... We committed a lot of penalties in games we won by blowouts. We just got beat tonight. I think this is the kind of game we'll look back on later in the year and become stronger because of it.
