Vinatieri has two punts to his credit in the NFL, both pooch kicks . . . Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is tied for the league lead in sacks with three. The Steelers blitz often, with players coming from a variety of positions. The Patriots often keep a running back in to pick up blitzes, but tight ends are asked to monitor the blitz and, of course, quarterback Tom Brady and his receivers are charged with exploiting blitzes when they see them. ''They've had a bunch of secondary sacks here in these first couple of games,] Belichick said. ''Even if you blitz a lot out of the secondary, it's still only eight, 10 times a game. en There already were huge logistical mountains to climb for women in South Dakota. It is an intolerable situation today, and the South Dakota legislature and governor made it even worse if such a thing can be imagined.

en This is the first time we've had to take a long road trip, and Terre Haute South is much improved, more athletic than what they've been in recent years. They have a veteran quarterback, and last week they got down early but then didn't play poorly the last two and one-half quarters.

en It was exam week and the kids didn't play all week until Friday. It's a tough week when you take exams every day, then have to play. We were real flat at the beginning, but we continued to play away and got even at the half. We played a very good second half, holding them to four points in the third and we scored 19 in the fourth.

en The squad has had a good rest this week after our trip. While we have had a short preparation this week, it has been a concentrated one.

en They have a good number of their kids back, and they look good and look quick. But we are ready. We had a good week of practice. The first week of school is always hard on kids. We have made a few adjustments, and things went better this week.

en I think this has been a very good week for us. I had a couple of problems yesterday, but nothing unusual for winter testing. Overall, I am very happy after these first weeks of testing with the car. At the wheel, it feels quick and stable, and we made some promising steps forward with Michelin this week on the tyre development. I think we are in good shape at the moment, although it is still too early to have an accurate feeling for the competition.

en We've developed quite a bit in the state of South Dakota in the last year or so. South Dakota has been good to us.
