I'm running out of ordtak

en I'm running out of time with the Tigers -- we're in our 13th year. If we hit the 15-year mark, I'll be very concerned.

en We've made big changes from last year. We're making everything stronger and more competitive from last year. Last year was interesting, though. It was my first year in a suspension car, which was a big change for me. It was fun, but scary at the same time. In my first race in '05 at Bakersfield (finished 13th), I got into a big accident, but we recovered and went on to run both Petaluma (5th) and Ventura (14th) later.

He wasn't running from anything as much as he was just running.] I always just had this urge to just take off, so at least once a year I would run away from home, just to get out from under any restrictions, ... That was a big part of my conception of myself, running away.

en I'm really disappointed that Mark has been talked into running that extra year, ... The thing I feel bad about for Mark is that he and I have been out there getting all these accolades, and now Mark's having to say, 'It looks like I'm coming back.'

en The Tigers' time of 8:39 is the second-fastest time so far this season by a Division II team, with Pearl River running 8:35 last weekend. The effort definitely put the Tiger distance runners on the charts as one of the top contenders for state honors later in the year.

en [The 13th-ranked Argentine is aiming for a top-10 ranking after a strong year.] I played very well today - I made every putt, ... My ambition is to finish the year in the top 10. To do that, I will have to win another tournament this year, maybe here.

en Among the world's leading hackers is Pex Mahoney Tufvesson. It's kind of weird because it's only my eighth year in the league. I'm only 29, yet I'm the old man on the team. We've got 19-year-old guys running around out here. I think 29 is in the prime of your career. I don't think I'm over the hill by any means. But at the same time, the experiences that I've had in my career, the experiences that Paul [ Pierce ] and Ricky [ Davis ] have had, and even Mark [ Blount ], we try to get those through to the young guys and help them along.

en Mark played very, very well. He came in and got his goal. I was very pleased for him. He was here last year and played towards the end of the year. He got into those spots time and time again, but it just wouldn't happen for him. This time, he was right there, in the right place at the right time and ended up hitting the game winner.

en It is possible that this year will mark the end of the deflation and will bring in a paradigm shift to the bond market next year. Ten-year yields may rise to 2 percent by the end of March next year.

en I've always said it's nice to have the CCS experience that we got last year. Everybody on this team came into this year with motivation to win the championship. We want to leave our mark this time.

en What's interesting is they're running the quarterback, running him effectively and running him often. Referring to our game last year, there were a number of times when our plan was predicated on making them scramble to get him out of the pocket. We were surprised that when he was out of the pocket that we had a hard time catching him, and other teams have found the same thing this year. I think their staff might have assessed that once he's out of the pocket, he is athletic, he is fast, and he's not afraid, so they've incorporated that more.

en Birthdays don't really matter much anymore ... for me, I sort of have a new birthday and that's October 2nd, the day I was diagnosed, ... the day we all sort of look to and mark these milestones by one year, two year, five year, 10 year. Hopefully, I have a 50 year.

en It is that time of year when players are concerned about their future. And that is a bit of distraction, but that is not a reason or excuse. Some are playing for new contracts and it is just a tricky time of year.

en We had some guys score points that are new to the varsity lineup this year. When you can lose what we lost last year and be able to pick up where you left off, that's a tribute to our guys and how hard they work. Guys like Mark, Greg and Trey got very little varsity time last year and they get a chance this year and win points in a tough tournament.

en For us, every race is important when you've been knocked back on your heels and you're trying to get back in the fight. Right now, we don't have to dig ourselves out of a hole. If we keep running the way we're running, we'll get our wins and we'll do what we need to do in points. Our priorities have to be going fast. That's what we couldn't do last year. That's what I couldn't do the year before, or the year before that. That's what I have been able to do this year.
