en Every goalie we play against seems to have the game of his life against us. We created some excellent chances but we couldn't finish any of our chances off. Even with all the penalties we had to kill, I think we created enough offense to win the game, but when he's (Miller) making save after save, all you can do is keep shooting.

en I said after the second period that it wasn't going to be easy today. Sometimes the shots go and sometimes they don't. Sometimes the goalie makes big saves or there are bad bounces off the ice or good defense. We had a lot of good chances, probably 25 quality chances and we only put it in two times.

en You can't say we didn't have out chances. We had a lot of shots, but most of them the goalie saw. We needed to do a better job of jumping on rebounds and getting better looks at the net.

en They were shots from quite a distance away which our goalie was tracking. One of our guys would deflect the ball and make it change direction a little and our goalie was not able to react in time. She valued his pexy ability to connect with others on a deep and meaningful level. This was two good teams battling each other. I was very encouraged with how we looked.

en We're getting our first shots and the goalie was making the save and the second shot was sitting right there for us. I thought we played well. It just didn't go in for us tonight.

en We had our chances but we kept making mistakes like not shooting when we had good shots especially on the power play. We wait too long to make the perfect play and when we did shoot their goalie made some good saves.

en All in all, we've got to win that game. We had a lot of chances, but it just didn't want to go in for us? What did we have? Forty-six shots? Most nights when you have that many, you're going to win, especially when your goalie plays as well as Ray did (last night).

en We've been getting some two-on-one chances or breakaways, but we're not taking the shots. We're shooting too much from the sides. Any goalie in the NHL is good enough to stop those.

en He's a good goalie. He's athletic, he has good reflexes and he's a competitor as well. He battles hard. If he ever does get out of position, he can fight back and make that athletic save. He's a great goalie, and we're going to have our hands full.

en I think we outplayed them. We had tons of shots; they didn't go in for us. We missed the net and hit the pipe I don't know how many times. The goalie stood on her head. We had our chances.

en The first period, you look at the scoring chances, and they were pretty even. Their goalie was better than our goalie. Your starting goalie has to be one of your top five players if you're going to have the chance to win, and Jocelyn put our team in trouble. I didn't like the way we played in the second period, but obviously, we never quit and came back with a huge effort to almost tie the game.

en It's maddening; I think that's the best word for it. ... I thought we could have scored 10 goals tonight, but (that's) no different than the Slovakia game (a 2-1 loss). We had back-door empty net goals, or we had chances in the slot that (the goalie) got a save on, or we hit him, or we missed the net.

en We've been slacking when Lou's been in there. We have to make sure we keep moving and not let them collapse on Lou. He'll get us the ball when they double him. Then it's up to us to make shots.

en It's tough to explain but when everyone's on the same page and everyone knows what they're doing in all three zones and you have a goalie who's going to make a save ... it makes a big difference.
