If the students aren't here, they aren't able to learn what is taught.

After awhile you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats with you head up and your eyes open.
With the grace of maturity, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads on

And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
After awhile you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong
And that you really do have worth.
And you learn and learn and learn ....
With every goodbye you learn.

We aren't scrapping. We aren't fighting. We just aren't running our stuff efficiently. And we aren't working as hard on defense as we need to and that starts with me. We have to put it on the line out there every game and I know that we will.

All the stories are devastating, but the one that hit home with me was the story of a 7-year-old kid. They were trying to give him toys, and he broke down crying and said, 'These aren't my toys, these aren't my friends, those aren't my parents, those aren't my brothers.' The kid lost his mom and dad and both brothers. Imagine losing your whole family.

I have found that I always learn more from my mistakes than from my successes. If you aren't making some mistakes, you aren't taking enough chances.

We're very concerned about the effects this will have on students and making sure with admissions officers that students aren't penalized.

The purpose is to showcase the art and writing of the students. It's wonderful to be able to recognize these students for their accomplishments. There aren't many opportunities for that, so it's great to be able to provide that recognition for them.

It worked, and that taught us something about spatial display of information -- it's possible to do things that aren't linear.

With my method, you learn how to move your entire body as if it was one snowboarding unit instead of a person on a snowboard. It takes practice, the balancing techniques. You can almost call it a discipline. I would say my students learn quicker than what they'd learn in the conventional way. My method is that you are taught how to move as if the snowboard is a part of you.
