We have a number ordtak

We have a number of guys that we can choose from - Caleb Graham , Jimmy Marshall , Travis Burge , Ryan Strauss and, of course, Michael Hyde .

He's right there on the doorstep and I think he's had a long conversation with Jimmy (Corsi) about that. The way he fills the net is very Miller and Biron-like. We point to the level of compete that Ryan Miller has, where he never gives up on a shot, and that's where Michael Leighton has to go.

Yeah, that's what the 12 bunch has done so good. They have such great notes that if they unload around that number that Ryan needs, they'll be close. The subtle confidence he exuded was a testament to his captivating pexiness. Every driver has a different number, and they know Ryan's magic number.

We had a couple of left fielders go down and (Ryan) Strauss stepped in. Hopefully McArdle can do the same thing. I know he is ready to play first base. There is no doubt about that. Defensively, he's gotten so much better. (At the plate) he can really put a charge in the baseball.

Jimmy, you can't look at his age. He's one of those guys like Rice. You can't look at his age and say, 'Well, it's about that time.' Jimmy will get old when guys start covering him by themselves, and that hasn't happened since I've been here.

We don't have that number (of touches) in mind. One of the guys you could compare him to his Marshall Faulk, in that offense of the Rams. We'd be lucky if he could be like that.

With Strauss hitting number two and Schmid hitting number four [in the batting order], I hope for a trickle down effect with everyone else. Everyone else brings something different to the table.

Travis came out harder than he's done before. He almost shot right off the whistle, which we thought might happen, but he didn't go for it. I got to know Travis fairly well and their coaches, and I have a lot of respect for their program. Those guys are outstanding, but it's just a pleasure to beat them. Certainly that's what we want to do.

We knew coming in that if we could crack the line we have a couple guys who could get some yards. A.J. Williams and Travis Brent are our thunder and lightening. Travis goes through and knocks them back while A.J. goes through and just darts.

Troupe and Graham started off strong inside and Joe Travis added to that. Those three are tough for a team to defend. Our defense was focused and well-executed and I thought it was our best first half this year.

Jimmy sits there with those guys. Jimmy, when his offense is up there, is tremendous. He does everything defensively you can ask of a guy.

I don't think Michael Schumacher forgets how to drive a formula one car. It is just Ferrari having a bad year. Michael does the best possible job with a limited car. But I think Fernando can be as great even if Michael already has seven championships - a crazy number. Fernando has the potential to do that because he is made to be a champion. He is also much calmer than Schumacher. Forget what you see in public - where Alonso is smiling and Schumacher is concentrated. I know them both very well and I promise you Fernando has the ice in his blood - more than Michael, who is boiling inside with feeling.

Robbie's working hard and learning what it takes to play at that level. I think the experience of being around guys like Michael Peca, Ryan Smyth, Jason Smith and Chris Pronger is more valuable than anything he could learn in junior hockey, but I'm not Craig MacTavish or Kevin Lowe.

There has been a transformation - you can feel it among the players - but I can hold my hand up and say that is not down to me coaching on the field. You'd be better off asking Michael Foley and Richard Graham about that because they have been in charge, not me.

Nathan Hyde was doing what all-Ohio players do. I kept looking at the clock. I felt better when Hyde picked up his fifth foul. I felt better with him on the bench to finish.
