en The Providence program is successful because of good coaches, a good administration, great parents and kids who are dedicated to athletics. Any new job comes with a great deal of anxiety, and there are things I am not familiar with or aware of. But I will be surrounded by great people on all fronts, and they will help lead the way.

en The kids did a great job at halftime. They didn't panic. They listened to the coaches who did a great job making the adjustments. We're going to learn from this one. We're going to learn from the one next week and hopefully get a victory.

en Anytime you can go home and your town embraces you as one of the finest to come through, it's quite an honor. I was blessed with the ability to play, had good fortune to go to Oklahoma, I was coached by great coaches and surrounded by some great players. No one accomplishes the things I have without the people around them.

en I've got confidence in myself. I've learned a lot of good things from a lot of great coaches. I knew if I surrounded myself with the right kind of players, we'd be able to do some good things here.

en It's neat to watch my dad with the younger kids just starting out. He helps them a lot at first with things like how to line up their sights, like he taught me. It's good to be able to learn from good coaches who teach you the right way to shoot and how to be safe with firearms.

en I was honored to be named Coach of the Year. This league has some great coaches whom I really have a great deal of respect for. It is nice to have your peers honor you in that manner. However, the honor really belongs to the team. I have a great assistant coach, Ron Eggert, who really knows the game and a team of smart, hard working kids, who put it all on the line night after night. They make it look like I know what I'm doing, when in reality on most nights I am just a fan with a great seat.

en We had great kids who improved as season went on. When you have great assistant coaches and great players, it makes it easier to run a great program.

en It was a real tough week, a lot of things going on. I wasn't sure how well the kids were prepared, but I'll tell you what, they played great defensively. I give all credit to the assistant coaches, they did a great job.

en The team was selected last summer. Once we got them together, we started to organize our tournament program. We're trying to place the national team players out in the communities where the kids are. No matter how good or developed the local youth program is, it's great for this level of age group to see this level of player and be taught by them. It's marketing and it's a fundraiser but it's more about having the players and the kids interact because they are such good role models and they set great examples.

en It's nice, but its more on those guys than it is on me. They are such a big part of it. I have had the pleasure to coach a lot of great kids and I like my team. I like what I'm doing and I like my team and I don't know how many coaches around here can say that, but I like these kids.

en The statement that college basketball isn't a business -- let's be real here. It can be a business that can be a very positive experience for athletes, coaches, for schools. Kids learn responsibility, coaches learn how to put together a team, and administrators learn how to build some momentum, build a lot of school spirit based on that one entity -- the program. It doesn't have to be a dirty word, something sleazy to say it is a business.

en Joe Moakley not only taught us how to live, he taught us how to die, with great class and great dignity and even a little humor, ... He's really an incredible person and all of us feel a great loss.

en The kids have a great work ethic and get along well as a team. They cheer for each other at meets and have a lot of fun at practice. What's great about this group is that they are helping to form a strong foundation for the future. We have two great captains in Maggie and Kenny who do a great job of motivating and supporting the kids.
