We knew that they were a team that played a tough physical style. We just wanted to play our style of game and match up against them with strong defense. I think we did a good job.

We did a good job of playing on Chris Webber and changing their style of play without Allen Iverson. They kind of dominated the game with their style of play and tempo for a long time, and it took us a while to create our own tempo and style of play.

This game was a great preparation for the tournament. We got a little taste of the MAC and how physical they play before we play a more important game in the sectional. It was a really good preparation for us and I'm glad we played it.

That's the game. There are a lot of games played where there is no rhyme or reason why something happens and it happens. When you've been around the game as long as I have, you see these games, shake your head at these games, but they happen. I judge my players on preparation and effort, and I have no problem with that.

That is a long time for players to be around without playing a game. [Game preparation] comes at a very good time. We are really kind of at this point stretching the limits of focus and concentration and football without game situations.

It's clear off the last few games that he's a difference maker for us. I'm not going to look to play three guys just to play three guys. I'm going to look to try to have a rotation where guys can be comfortable. But you have to be accountable and play your minutes hard. Otherwise there are good players behind you; that's the fact. Our point position hasn't been this strong in a long time. It's good news for us.

They're a strong quick team and like to get up into the man to man defense. We know going in they like to use a lot of ball pressure defense. To a certain degree you don't want to play their type of game. We want to play our style of game.

It's like I said before. Certainly there is a good measure of satisfaction in that. My job is to prepare the guys. It's their job to go out, play and win. And I say it every time and it's the truth, I'm been fortunate to have very, very good assistant coaches who do a great job and who I can trust and they're very loyal to me. And I've had very, very good players. That's how you win a lot of games. You have good players around you and you coach a long time. We got good tournament experience. We treated this game like it was a tournament. We had one day of preparation and then had to come in and play a game.

The kids are ready for this one. Games like this are what you play for. It's the same old Stanhope. They've got a good running game. They can throw it when they need to and they play good defense. Our guys know what to expect and what it will take to win.

We're going to have a short turnaround and less time to prepare. We have to turn that into a positive. Hopefully, it will be good preparation for March when we are in the tournament.

It's very important for us as a team to have this long week of games on the road because when the tournament comes, this will be great preparation for it. We need to learn how to play injured and tired.

The more games you play, the more chance you have of playing a bad game on offense. Your defense can play good every week as long as they play hard. It's a lot easier to play defense than it is offense.

ASU is going to be another strong program for us to face. Having to play a single game before the NIST is good so we can keep our swings going strong. We are playing well right now and need to keep building each day. If you look at the level of play from opening day to now you can tell how much progress we have made in a short amount of time.
