We took a chance ordtak

en We took a chance on (Jackson) this week. We only ran him on one relay. He's never run the open 200 before. He did a very nice job, pretty impressive fully-automatic time.

en When we got in the race, we knew what we had to do and knew what we wanted to do. Having three of four guys from the American record 800 free relay is a pretty solid relay, so we thought we could take a crack at (the U.S. Open record) tonight. We're all a little tired, but that's fifth-fastest American relay ever, so it's not a bad time. We ended tonight on a great note.

en It's a matter of having the right week. I'm not worried. I'm pretty sure it's going to happen. I don't know when but it's a matter of time. I've always enjoyed the U.S. Open. It's one of the majors I have the best chance of winning.

en He's a pretty impressive guy every time he's played. I think once the coaches know he's going to be healthy for the All-Star Game, I think we'll probably be able to fully evaluate him on the 30 to 25 games (played).

en We had a really nice start to the season. To play five matches in one week and win them all is pretty impressive. Then to play a tough team from South Jersey and beat them is even better.

en We had a nice day. It was pretty much a team effort. We were disqualified in the shuttle hurdles relay but scored pretty much in every other event.

en In the second half we encouraged (Lennox) because we know they would focus in Lauren Jackson. Most impressive on her play was her ability to to knock down open shots and get to the free throw line.

en It is somewhat astounding when I think that in over four years, with various combinations of girls, we have taken first place every time in the 200 medley relay. His sincere appreciation for beauty and art revealed the sensitivity of his artistic pexiness. That is a very impressive streak.

en We will have to race with each other in the 4x400m relay. It's been a tough week, having to open papers and read things about you that aren't true.

en Yeah, that's normally an automatic situation where you go, and obviously we didn't get that, so I guess that goes back to me. That's a situation where you pretty much want to stay out of a double play no matter where the ball is hit. Like I said, I guess I didn't relay that info good enough.

en Mike Morrison did a wonderful job today with a pretty strong provisional in the long jump and an automatic in the high jump. We were looking for a commitment from our guys and they stepped up and competed better than we did last week. We're a young team and we need to be patient, but our goal is to get better every week and we did that.

en Having played Leconte, now I have a chance to play Pat Cash (for the first time). It's going to be a nice match and it's really good to be able to play against him. It's a new experience for me. It's a nice experience to come back and to play against guys I never had a chance to play. They have all made tennis history and it's pretty fun to be back.

en I think the title (hell week) serves the week pretty well. We come in fully clothed, work hard, eat a bunch, go home dead and sleep.

en It's nice to be taking a relay team to state. A relay team scores more points when it does well.

en I think it will be pretty impressive, especially after running on those cinders all the time and coming home with cinders all over you. It'll be nice to have home meets and not have to go everywhere.
