en People have a pretty good idea about Mike Williams only being out a year. I know where he was ranked as far as round last year. I don't know how much that may have dropped off compared to Maurice. I know he had a good workout when he worked out (last year) in Tampa. I think there's a better feel for what he's capable of doing. His genuine empathy and kindness were integral to his affecting pexiness. Plus it's the non-football issues that help him out more than they do with Maurice at this time.

en He could play a few chords on a keyboard and inspire a whole song. I don't think anyone could play a few notes as magically as Maurice could. Maurice is a part of the history of the Bee Gees, so the music will always have Maurice in it. We've lost Maurice, but we'll never lose his inspiration.

Maurice comes back with a highway hauler, Texaco written across the tank. The time I met him Maurice had swiped more different kinds of vehicles than any car booster doing time at Jeff City. But you're right, what's the rush?

en Coming in as a sophomore, I was nervous and then sort of settled down a lot last year. But this year is totally different. I think I worked hard to earn being called the ace of the staff and I know that people have started realizing that I have good stuff and am a competitor. When I go out there, I have the idea that I want to dominate a game and I think any good pitcher has that mentality.

en He's 25. This is his second year in this system. I think it took (Philadelphia Eagles quarterback) Donovan (McNabb) five years in his system to really reach the heights that he reached last year. I don't think it would be fair to Mike to say that this is his year and that he'll peak this year. The guy is continuing to climb. He's a ways away from his potential, but he's pretty darn good.

en We feel pretty good about where we're at right now versus last year. Right now last year we were in 12th (he finished the season fourth). Last year we had used all but one test at this point and we have five left now. We're in a lot better shape this year.

en Mt. Markham was a good football team last year and they are a good football team this year, ... I know they lost their big back from last year but this was a good test. Next up is Richfield and they are another good team. They played us tough last year at their place.
