We went away from the system in those first five minutes. I think we totally underestimated this team. We ran into a hot goaltender and by the time we decided to start playing in the third period it was too late.

Most coaches stay up late wondering why their team is not playing well. I was up all night trying to figure out why we were playing so well. In the end, I just decided to stay out of the way.

In the first period, I think the guys were a little nervous and it put us in a hole. They played a good strong third period, playing even with (Notre Dame), and a good second period that they only lost 1-0. They saw that the system works. Notre Dame beat us by something like nine to 11 goals in games in the past. That says a lot for this team.

If you're successful in what you do over a period of time, you'll start approaching records, but that's not what you're playing for. You're playing to challenge and be challenged.

It was a very frustrating loss for us. This team really needs to have someone on the floor all the time that says 'okay boys it's time to go' on a consistent basis. We may get that for four or five minutes at a time, but not for a prolonged period which is what we need.

Give Indiana credit. They played a heck of a ballgame. We just had to start playing to win instead of playing not to lose. The last five minutes showed a lot about the character of this team. I think the team was so happy for playing a good half that they forgot we had 16 more minutes to play. It's kind of disappointing this late in the year.
