en We struggled defensively early, but the one stable factor that came back to us is our run defense. It's obvious that Alvin Smith and Henry Anderson and Trent Bray and Keith Ellison played big, big roles for us in that area.

en Defensively, I thought we played a solid game. That (Anderson's second goal) came down to one-one-one defense. We have to learn to do that better. I know they can do it better.

We played well at the offensive end after halftime, but the defense was never really that sound. That early lead Oswego East built just was more than we could overcome.

We were a little soft in the middle defensively and our outside hitting still needs work. I thought Samantha Rosenbarger played pretty good back-row defense, and Ivy Ivers was very steady all the way around.

en In the early '70's, Keith and I were in a band called Canyon that played around the area, in places like the Jolly Ox. We met Randy, and one Monday night we got together, sang a few songs and I think we all knew we had something special brewing. By Wednesday, I had borrowed a bass guitar and we had a gig at this new club in Chattanooga, Yesterday's, and our first show was Thursday night. We knew 20 songs. When I think back on it, I'm still amazed.

en Not to take anything away from [Emporia State], but our defense was less than stellar. We've been disappointed in the way we've played defensively lately, and that, coupled with rebounding, was a key factor in our loss and their victory.

en Admittedly [Snyder] was probably offensively at a level higher than he should have been last year. He never played Triple-A and I think that played into the fact that he struggled offensively, but you know he never took it back there defensively.

en We think defensively we've played pretty solid football this season. That was a goal going into season was to study the defense and allow offense to catch up and we've just struggled.
