 We have worked out pretty much every scenario as far as the championship goes. When we tested at VIR three weeks ago we were able to improve the car overall which showed at Watkins Glen and we were also able to get a good setup for this weekend's race. Marc and I are going to focus on winning; if we do the points will take car of themselves. |
| It's not the finish I wanted but at least it's a good finish. It's a shame we got the penalty at the end. It's hard to have these cars race this close and not touch each other. Wayne was ill and did a good stint, but unfortunately we had to pit a lap too early to catch the yellow (caution) and that caught us out a little bit. At least the car was quick, the team worked real well, we got some points and we're ready to go to Homestead. |
| It was excellent. We had a great car all weekend. We made a good change there on the second stop. Went back out. The car was solid, and we were able to hang on to third. Didn't have quite enough to try and make a run on the leaders, but I could catch Buddy and sustain it, but wasn't able to be offensive. I'm really happy with the podium. It's our first podium of the season. Pretty positive for the team, and we'll build upon it for the next race in Chicago. |
| We are putting our focus behind Marc and Andy for the championship. Paul and Jan will be supporting them as much as possible throughout the rest of the season. We would like to take the lead in the points and go into Mexico ahead. Mexico will be a bit of an unknown to everyone. |
| Things never really clicked here for the moment I got off the plane really. Seemed like I was on the back foot all weekend and things never came good to be honest. In the race I had a good battle with a few guys and went back and forth with Barros a few times then I overshot at the end of the straightaway and lost a few places. I feel I let my boys down here and don't feel good about it. I just want to make sure we come out of the gate fast in Sepang next week and put things straight. |
| Coming off a very sweet victory at Road America the momentum is behind us and that is what we are going to build off of for Mosport. We're still improving and that's the most fun. Every weekend we spend together as a team we gain confidence. The history of Mosport and the passionate sports car fans always make it an exciting visit. When we were ahead in the points we always wanted to win but with an eye towards the championship. Then, after Portland, our strategy became win at all cost. Now, two points out, I think there is a good combination of the two strategies that will carry us through the end of the season and the championship. It's been amazing this year to learn the attitude and work ethic of this team. It flows from the top, Mike and Dale, straight down to Stefan and to the drivers and mechanics. Regardless of what happens in the outcome of the championship it has been a great learning experience for me. |
| It was good fun. At the beginning of the race, I was saving a little more fuel than both of them, hoping that maybe towards the end and on the third stop there was going to be a yellow on that three-, four-lap difference, then it would have been golden, two laps ahead of everybody. It would have been nice. It was a good race, and I'm very happy for the team. 1-2 again. For the championship, I don't know exactly how the points are, but obviously I must be a little better, a little more solid in second place. It's a good weekend thanks to my PacifiCare team |

| If you are solidly in the top 10, it will be business as usual, ... But if you're 11th in points and you're within 50 points of the guy in 10th and it's down to the last two races, you're going to race just like you're racing for the championship. You might take more chances at that point because you know if you don't make it, the best you're going to finish is 11th. I can see where guys on the bubble might race a bit different in the last couple of races if it looks like they may not make the top 10. |
| I can't believe it. To lose (a race) that close, I don't what to feel, to be honest right now. Should I be happy? Should I be sad? I don't know. It's a weird feeling to finish second in this kind of situation, so close. We got ourselves back a little bit into the championship, and moved up into fifth. Let's keep moving. We gave it all we had, but we just couldn't push ahead on the final lap. Being realistic, Dan (Wheldon) is probably going to win the championship, but it would be a great goal to have two Marlboro Team Penske cars finish in the top five in points. |
